Just got back, straight on the internet to write a review of this great hotel!
The staff are amazing, can't do enough for you. I mean, they won't even allow you to carry your own coffee pot 5 steps to your table, nooooo they do it for you! The hours they put in are obscene, so deserve a lot of credit. They really make this hotel. Cleaners do a great job, the place is beautiful. The bar staff, fantastic. The lady in the little bar in the reception engraved a little message: "I love you" in the top of our coffee!
When you arrive, you leave your bags outside. The porters then take them to your room. Give them a tip, don't be tight. 20 dirhams - less than 2 quid. It puts a massive smile on their faces. We tipped them, and also the cleaners on two occasions. The first, we gave her 50 dirhams - about 4 quid. Later, we found out she'd been back into our room, and give us extra bottles of water. The other time, two girls had double teamed our room, and did an amazing job. For the amount you save on all inclusive, a couple of quid to a fiver is nothing, but more to these guys, They deserve it!
The chefs are awesome. Food is great, we were stuffed every day. And boy, can they make good cakes! It did get a little repetitive by the end of the week, especially breakfast, but there's always something you'll like. Wednesday night is oriental themed, but we never noticed! Saturday is Italian themed, and that was superb. Coffee is fresh in the morning from pots, at other times, use the bars. They have it in machines, but it's very milky latte. Meal times : 7:30 - 10:30 breakfast in the main restaurant. 10:30 - 12:30 late breakfast in the pool restaurant. Not as much selection and cold on the one time we had it. 12:30 - 3:30 lunch in the pool restaurant, always pastas, fish dishes, chips, grill outside, fresh salad, pizza, soup and LOTS OF ACE CAKES!!!, 3:30 - 5:00 snacks downstairs, although we never went. Dinner is from 7-10 in the main restaurant. There is also another restaurant you can use once during your stay, but needs pre-booking. We never got round to this, but I think it's a grillhouse. It's next to the main restaurant upstairs in the lobby. Cocktails are free. I highly recommend the Sunset Cooler.
Entertainment: The animation team are pretty good. Although they did this obnoxious dance to the same song every day, at least twelve times. They'd do it on the bridge when we were sunbathing. About 7:30 ish, they'd do it in the little ballroom next to the restaurant, and at 9:45 every night, in the Founty Bar (a bar outside where the evening entertainment goes on), they'd do it another seventeen times. It's all I heard!! But they do a good job, and the old fellas love the pretty Moroccan ladies (who also partake in belly dancing btw.....yes, win) and the old dolls love the young Moroccan studs.
The pool area was clean and nice to look at at. There are 4 in total. One indoor saltwater, which was nice (warmed up once you're in) and 3 outside. Unfortunately, these were unusable as they were sooooooo cold. We saw a few brave souls in there, one girl told us it was 14 degrees. It was bitterly cold, a real shame. But the weather isn't the hotel's fault is it.
Our room was great. Block 4, paid for a garden view, got a fantastic view of the sea with the hillside in the background with the Arabic writing on it, which lights up at night. Spectacular. Twin beds, which were a bit awkward (falling down the gap in the middle). Good, hot showers. We used bottled water for toothbrushing purposes, after advice. I don't think it was necessary though. It was clean. TV - channels of interest : ch13 - Aljazeera 2, a film channel in English ch15- CNN. ch19 - BBC world news. ch21- Action channel, films all day, in English. Channels 1-5 football! And lots of it! All the time! Win! I managed to watch the United-Liverpool game (with funny Arabic commentary - Roooooooney, EL GOLDEN BOOOOY!), which I was panicking about missing. Most of the channels are German, a few French, Spanish. A mix for everyone.
Outside the hotel, we went to the marina twice. There are a few shops up there selling their fake Raybans etc. the usual. The beach was nice, if you discard the annoying lucky lucky men selling their cheap tat. A nice no doesn't work, a firmer no seems to do a little better, and that's when they try and sell you camel rides. Don't buy them, they're illegal. And when you tell them no, that's when they'll offer you drugs. Laugh at them, and walk away. We never went to the city, but there is a taxi rank outside the hotel. Reception will fix a price for you.
All in all, I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It's brilliant. In summer when it's hotter and the pools are usuable, it would be out of this world. We had 20 degrees most days, but it was windy.
I think if we came back to Agadir again, this is the ONLY hotel i'd stay in. We had a walk through Tikida Beach (2 mins away) and Dunas was better!
So definitely worth it's 4 stars. I'd go for 5 to be honest. Keep up the good work guys!
Room Tip: A tip: If you have Dirhams left, the porters at Agadir airport want tipping, and people give them po...
