“a wonderful 2 weeks”

I just returned from 2 weeks at the Tafoukt. It was just my 13 year old son and I. We travelled from Canada. This was a really big trip for us and we had a wonderful time. We do not speak French,German or Arabic and still had no problem dealing with anyone at the resort. The staff were great and went out of the way to make us feel welcome and helped us with anything we needed. I do not think I have ever went anywhere where the staff worked so hard. The resort was always clean and very well kept. The room was basic but lovely. The food was good. My son had some problems but he is picky. The fruits and vegtables were awesome. We took 2 day trips. They were well organized and lots of fun. The weather was second to none....we had 14 days of sunshine and not one drop of rain...who could ask for more.
The only thing that would have made the trip better would have been at least one English station on the TV.

I dont quite understand all the negative things said about the French, this hotel clearly states it caters for the French, all the shows are in French it didnt bother me or my girlfriend in the slightest. we had such a great experience there the food was amazing there people were really friendly, (infact alot of the staff said they would prefer more English there).

If you want just a nice chilled out holiday with your partner or with the family then its brillinat i wish i took my son....

“Fantastic staff, wonderful food, great location and atmosphere!”

I stayed here a week and there is nothing that I didn't like. Well maybe the fact, that I had to leave and go back home... :) I had a room in the middle of the block 300, where on the bottom is the restaurant situated. The balcony view was magnificent - towards the beach and ocean, where I couldn't stop taking thousands of fotos of the sunset each evening. Everyday it looked different and each day it was a masterpiece! Well, you can say, that you don't have to stay in a hotel with an ocean view to be able to see the sunsets... but isn't it wonderful to step out of the shower and be astonished of the views... Amazing. The rooms we had were spaciuos, the decor wasn't very sophisticated, but it had that "moroccoan touch", which whole our group liked. The bathrooms as already mentioned by others, weren't the newest, but still were clean, which was what I appreciated the most. As the nights were a bit cold, I always turned on the AC on heat :) and it was OK. The whole staff I've met was very polite, eager to help and resolve problems and spoke English quite well. I loved the "Shisha Bar", it's something you look for when being in Morocco. Besides the animation of the dancers were really impressive! Nothing I've seen in many other hotels of the past years I've stayed. To tell the truth - I don't take part in hotel animations, as I can entertain myself and I was never very fond of these attractions. But for Decameron Tafoukt - it's a hidden gem. I really enjoyed watching the artists.
I think that having a disco in your hotel, where you can have drinks till 1.00 on the all inclusive basis is a good plus. The DJ was great and I liked the most is that many locals (men and women) come to have fun as well, so you can watch how they spend their free time. Never had any problems with Moroccan men wanting to dance. Some of us did dance a couple of times with them, some politely said no and everything was fine.

The food - I have only good things to say! WONDERFUL! Also the Miso Restaurant is marvellous. You must go there as well.

The hotel has it's own private beach, which is another very good thing. The hotel is very convieniently located. Next to the beach and promenade, close to the city center.

As for the French - this is mainly a French hotel, but I didn't have any problems with that. It's normal that resort hotels sometimes have more customers from one specific country, it's the same in any other resort. So if you don't like frnch language and French people then don't go. What's the problem? I don't see any :P

All of all - I just loved this hotel!

“The french were not as bad as i expected!”

My partner and I have just come back from agadir, the hotel decameron tafoukt beach hotel was fab! We booked with first choice and we arrived late at night,on arrival at the hotel the porter took our luggage while we checked in,our room had a huge balcony and they left us some sandwiches and olives for us to eat.Next morning we went to breakfast which had a huge variety,it alternated every day, lunch was nice, also snacks were pizza, chicken and chips, cheeseburger abd chips! (we sometimes just wanted a sandwhich but it was not on the menu!) Dinner was buffet style, some nights were nice, others were average, everything was in french so you did not really know what you was eating but it did not matter. Waiters were friendly and helpful as all staff so can not fault it there.Entertainment in french all the time day and night but the reps tried to get us involved which was good. The only downside i felt is the people on reception,be careful when changing money up,they tried to shortchange me.When i questioned this he said exchange rate had changed so i politely reminded him that his collegue changed my money 3 hours earlier the same amount, and i had a receipt to prove it!! Needless to say i got the correct money, also they tried to charge me for a phonecall that i did not make!! So little things like that you need to be aware but on the whole we enjoyed the good food, atmosphere, sun and the people are friendly. So hope this has been of help!

“What a abysmal hotel !! And Place !!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2010

I visited this place with my partner we are both 25 and open minded but this pushed us to our limits. The hotel itself was dirty, grimey and very very basic . Nothing what it looked like through the first choice website . Our first room when we arrived was right next to 2 open drains and made us heave until we asked them to change and that wasnt much better. Not one member of the hotel staff were helpful and couldnt speak a word of english. The pool bar was like a child tuck shop and even when we thought we would drown our sorrows all the drinks tasted off .e.g vodka that tastes like absynthe ! all in all a terrible hotel and even worse place everywhere you went people would leer and on two occasions tryed to steal may partners back . They continually hound you all day and night for money and if you decide to go for a couple of drinks every round would get more expensive even though you are drinking the same round ! I was douped into paying 280 Dhrm which is £28 for a vodka redbull !! When I complained masses gathered around us and so we had to leave . To anyone considering Morocco for a change and to soak up culture dont bother go to Egypt or somewhere else.
