Choose Royal Decameron because trip advisor ratings were good. I travelled with my husband and friends. We had three seperate rooms, but all were next to each other so that was handy. First impressions were very good, and they remained that way. The first language is French and some staff can speak very basic english. We all got by with no problems. the food is delicious and there is plently of choices to choose from. Make sure you book the other restaurants because the food is also lovely. I dont drink alchol, but the people who i were with did, and they reported no problems. The hotel is very clean, and although the rooms are very basic, you do not spend any time in them, other than to sleep, shower and change. There are plenty of cats in the actual hotel, but they were not too much of a pest. One night we even had a camel, come to visit us, and an old woman baking fresh bread in a clay oven which was good. The beach is fine, not the best, not the worst, and there is a private area for our hotel to use. There is no bar on the beach ( i assume because it is a muslim country) . There is the harbour just outside the hotel, well a small walk away really. Staff are very welcomming, but be sure to tip as they really like that. My only negative it that we were there for the festival (slaughtering animals) and so this did upset me a bit, but i am in their country and i have to respect that, even though i did voice my opinion. If your choosing to stay in Marakech, i would advise staying in agadir, and doing a day trip. Marakech is very dirty and grubby and although quirky and rather fun, english people here would soon become quite ill. Be very careful also visiting Marakech as there are pick pockets about. The locals will assume you need all their items from there shops, but either ignore or say no and walk away. Make sure you haggle for prices, estimate in your head the very last price you would pay, and stick to that, they will make the prices high to start. All in all a lovely time, and if i wanted to return to Morocco, i would choose this hotel.
