Just spent five days at the Argana, and would happily have stayed longer. Despite other reviews complaining about staff, noise, food, decor et al we found it a perfectly good hotel.
As has been mentioned recently, the staff were very discreet and did not hassle you. The restaurant staff were very helpful and all (bar one) spoke several languages and were very friendly. The pool bar staff were very attentive without being intrusive and the general staff were also very good.
We can certainly agree about the value and quality of the pool snacks, and the pricing was good for a hotel of it's size, although slightly more expensive than some outside bars (although for high prices, the 'English Bar down the road took all the prizes)
Some have complained about cleanliness, but I can only say that we had absolutely no complaints - the pool and surrounding area were cleaned religiouslly every morning, the rooms were spotless and the other public areas were regularly being cleaned.
My wife, daughter and son-in-law all had massages in the hotel spa (cheaper than others in the area) and were surprised at the quality and value of them.
I used the (free) gym and found that equally good.
One reviewer has mentioned noise from the bar area - they must have been very unlucky as there was virtually none whilst we were there, although this may of course change in high season as there is an outside seating area that is overlooked by some rooms.
With regard to the decor, there is a fair amount of refurbishment being done (very discreetly and with virtually no intrusion into the guests' routine) including both interior and exterior painting, new furniture, matresses etc, so by summer I would imagine the place will look somewhat up-to-date.
All in all, a very good value stay and we would very definitely return at the earliest opportunity
