“Nice staff, bad hotel concept”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

The reason that this hotel gets an average score is due to its employees who were very service-minded and accommodating. I especially like the guy at the pool who would ask me if I'd like "More Vitamin" and then brought me a pint of beer.

However, already when you're shown to your room the first day, the hotel employees make you feel like you "owe" them. At first, I was taken to a pretty lousy room and when the piccolo saw the expression on my face, he said: "For you, my friend - I will upgrade you", and then I was taken to the room that, I am pretty sure, I booked in the first place. Funnily enough, he had brought the keys to both rooms which kinda gave him away.

And then; you have to pay 100 MAD if you accidentally lose your beach/pool towel. You have to pay to use the internet at the hotel. You have to pay to use the hotel room's safety box.

Do not say yes to a room close to the reception/bar area if you want a nice a quite holiday; the male entertainer and his two back up girls sing the same old songs extremely loud every single evening between approx. 8 to 11.30. I was there to relax and read so especially this point was pretty annoying. The same could be said about the fact that animals and smoking were allowed at the hotel.

After my first day at Beach Club Hotel I informed the staff that my bath tub couldn't hold the water, which was never fixed. It happened three times that my minibar was refilled which eventually led to that I paid about 100 MAD more than I was supposed to. When I left the hotel, I could see from the specification that I'd also been charged for drinks that I never touched in the minibar. I informed the reception about this, but they didn't care.

According to the posters of the gym that had been put up a couple of places in the hotel, it looked like a relatively new gym, but I can honestly say that it was the worst and most outdated hotel gym I have ever seen and that says a lot.

In summation, check up on your minibar bill from time to time and do your weight training before the trip. This hotel is not for you if you're between 15 and 50 years old as approx 80 % of the guests were probably older than 50.

“Relaxing and well look after”

Just back from a week at the Agadir Beach Club. This was a last minute booking, and like many, due to the reviews, I was concerned at what I would find, plus slightly worried why this hotel was still available whilst many were fully booked… But have had a very enjoyable time! This was my first holiday on my own with my children (as my husband couldn’t get the time off), and the staff and guests made us all feel safe and well cared for! The small but beautifully furnished room got a ‘wow’ from both my children when we entered, the animation team, pool staff and restaurant team were friendly and helpful - there was never a problem finding pool seats and our restaurant table was always reserved for us.
I cannot comment on the kids club as my youngest was too shy to attend, plus both my girls preferred to spend all their time in the pool or on the beach..
The evening entertainment was good, and the range of music great - my one and only negative comment was that it favoured couple/ballroom dancing….. and though I now know the cha cha, both myself and my 11 year old daughter would have liked some ‘disco’ time. Of course the hotel does have a nightclub, but this was not an option for us.
If you want a hotel where you are looked after and feel very ‘safe’ then this is the hotel for you – we would certainly go back, but next time I would probably choose August when there’s a few more children around…. (though October is better for the weather). My thanks to all the team.

“Worst Holiday”

This was our worst family holiday and we are experienced travelers. We totally agree with the review on September 2011. This hotel lacks in basic hygiene, wear and tear refurbishment. This is the first hotel where I have seen staff eating whilst serving and sitting with guests. The service we witnessed was poor, some staff were rude and some were fake expecting a tip for doing very little. It is true that the grounds around the pool were cracked and never cleaned but what concerned us was the tiles missing and green moss and fauna within the pool. Customers do not come first, in fact you felt like trapped foolish individuals being ripped off.

“Birthday and engagement in Agadir!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2011

Hotel was clean, food was lovely in the main buffet restaurant, lunch buffet was outside and got very busy so it was hard to find a table or get a drink! Sun beds were hard to find even on the private beach, if you didn't put your towel put by 7.30am they were all gone. Nightly entertainment was awful... 3 singers and a keyboard! Maids were lovely, it was my birthday whilst we were there and they saw my cards when cleaning and left me a fruit basket, cakes and roses! They always made the beds and towels into pretty patterns. Location was very good, beach was busy but clean. The 'looky looky' men were even pleasant when you said no!! I would recommend going to the souk in one of the lil orange taxi's, they are really cheap, ours even introduced us to a tour guide from the town hall who took us around the souk as it was massive!! He asked what we wanted ie shoes, jewellery and e took s straight there and no one hassled us. After we finished he called the same taxi man who came to collect us! My fiancé arranged a morrocan oil massage through the taxi man must cheaper than Thomas cook prices and very efficient! Staff in the hotel varied, reception were friendly and helpful but the best were the waiters at night times!! All in all we had a good time. Hotel is abit dated and overcrowded but not awful like these reviews say!!

“excellant service”

we stayed for a week and found the staff friendly, attentive and efficient. they all made an effort to ensure our stay was enjoyable. all the reception, bar and waiting staff spoke english as well as french and german. the food was good in all the resturants and there was lots of variety. we found the service better than the service we recieved in the es saadi palace in marrakesh which is a five star. there was entertainment every night which was enjoyable. when a problem developed with the safe in our room it was fixed within twenty minutes.
