We arrived at the hotel at lunch time after a 2 hour flight delay, when we checked in we were given our all inclusive wrist bands which needed to be worn for the whole week. Upon arrival at the room the maid had not had chance to clean up from the previous occupants so we were asked to have a drink at the bar and some lunch which was no problem to us. When we got in the room we were not disappointed, very spacious and clean and the room was kept like this all week, Maid was in and cleaning daily, fresh towels were supplied every day and bedding changed twice.
The swimming pool was clean and always busy, the animation team were always around asking if you wanted to play games which a lot of people were doing, The animation team were very friendly and as there was only my wife and I travelling they were not just interested in talking to parents with Children but made everyone feel welcome.
The bar staff in the main hotel bar were fantastic, Nothing was too much trouble and they always liked to have a laugh and joke, It was the first time we had been all inclusive and the staff were not mean with the portions of alcohol given at any time of the day!
The food in the hotel did slightly let the place down in our opinion especially breakfast time, There was always something available that we would eat but it was often very repetitive and both the pool bar and the main restaurant served the same.
The beach was just out the back of the hotel but due to the time of year we visited it was like a sandstorm most days so we didn't venture in the sea but the beach did look very clean.
We did not do a organised trip however we did go to the local Market which was interesting and worth a visit to pass a couple of hours, Taxis wait just outside the hotel entrance and are cheap, for £10 you could get a tour of the old town stopping at shops and bizarres to buy gifts.
Overall a good holiday and we would probably return to this hotel in the future.

Just returned from a great holiday in Morocco with the family. Much has already been written about the hotel, staff etc so I will try not to be repetitive and will split into three parts - positive and areas for improvement and general comments about the area.

Positive

staff are all friendly and hard working - chat with them and they will chat with you
cleanliness - everywhere is clean and kept clean by hard working staff
drinks - always available - ask for a bottle of wine for the room and its no problem
food - lots of really good tagines - plenty of choice of freshly prepared grilled food
food - for kids (unless they are really adventurourous) plenty of pizza, pasta and chips
pool - fantastic pool
beach - short walk to really good beach - we didn't use the sun beds there but sea was warm
trips - we went on the city tour - 1/2 day orientation
supermarket - the Marjane is a huge hypermarket within 25 mins walk - excellent - and all fixed prices so no haggling - excellent if self catering

Areas for improvement

drinks - all spirits were very weak and cocktails too, coke etc was plentiful but often warm and no ice, local wine was ok but nothing to write home about
food - a bit of a scrum at times at the pool buffet at peak times - but wait til 1.30 and it was fine
moroccan movements - we all had a stomach upset for a few days - not awful, but enough to make you think about where the nearest loo was
evening entertainment was poor - despite best efforts by the animation team
everything stops at midnight - so if you are a party animal you will have to leave the hotel
location- its a hell of a walk into the city centre - either by the prom or by road it will take 45 mins to an hour. Get the Noddy train - it stops right outside the hotel

General comments

haggling - if you like a bargain head for the souks - but beware, you will be targetted immediately and even a remote interest in a product will attract major sales pitch and it is very difficult to get away again.
beach - great long sandy beach with all sorts of activities - gently shelving so good for children. Again lots of salesmen offering a variety of goods and services - ranging from kites, clothing, jewellery, food and even massage - and of course camel rides. If you are firm and say no, they usually leave you alone.
money - the dirham is a closed currency so you can only get it while you're there. My advice would be to change little and often - avoid having to change any back at the airport as they only offered a poor rate and only had Euros.

I could break my experiences at Iberostar into two categories, things I loved about my stay, and things I didn't like so much.

The things I enjoyed: This is a stunningly beautiful hotel. The rooms are immaculate, house keeping does a wonderful job!

One day housekeeping shaped our towels into two swams positioned on the bed sprinkled with rose petals. This was a wonderful surprise for me and my partner.

The pool is always clean, everything, the gardens, all lovely and well kept.

The staff are friendly, courteous, have a wonderful sense of humor. They told me that Americans rarely come to Morocco. That's a shame because they are missing visiting a wonderful country. Most of the people here seem to think the world of the USA.

The things I didn't like: Checking in I had reserved a family room. Instead I was taken to a double room. I went back to the front desk to complain and was challenged repeatedly by all the staff behind the counter until I pointed out on the receipt, which clearly stated in black and white, I had ordered a family room. The room I was given instead was nice, spacious, and attractive. Though I had orginally reserved an ocean view room, I decided to just accept the room anyway.

Phone service in the room did not work so I had to call the front desk for every call. I know they had attempted to fix the problem immediately by replacing the phone, but it didn't help. Calling my parents in the states became a problem.

The food in the buffet was average to below average. The pasta at lunch was half cooked. The tangine with beef was tough, the chicken tagine dry. Some of their salads were quite delicious however. Soda was always lukewarm.

They seem to have this problem with you taking your food back to your room. Me and my partner were stopped as we made our exit with a small amount of food we had wanted to eat in our room. We were talked to like two school children, told where to sit and eat, which I didn't much appreciate.

This hotel doesn't have the usual amenities we Americans enjoy such as English speaking television programs, room service, and a coffee maker in your room.

All in all however I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Agadir. I would stay there again.

Stayed here for a week during the Easter holidays in April.
The hotel as such was good, the room was clean and we had a nice balkony with a view on the pools.
We had an all-inclusive arrangement, the food was average, the cocktails at the bar were not very good.
The service however was always perfect, the staff was very helpful.
The Kids Club was excellent, our boys loved it very much.
What really let us down were the swimming pools. Our boys love to swim, but after the second day the water was always very cold. The pool staff admitted that something was wrong, but nothing changed for the rest of our stay. Almost nobody went for a swim although it was very sunny.
It was nice to feel the sun after a long winter, but we will not go back to this hotel.

Where do I start?... Got back last week from a 2 week break with my boyfriend and another couple (in our early 20's) and i can honestly it was the best holiday ever! The hotel is fantastic and Moroccon people are so friendly. I honestly don't have one complaint. I will try not to write forever but i will break this review into sections.

HOTEL/GROUNDS/ROOMS
The hotel definitly reflects its 4 star rating. It is immaculate, everything is new and clean, we often giggled at cleaners cleaning the floor but there was nothing to clean it was that spotless, if a glass or anything smashed it would be cleaned up within minuites. Glasses were cleared off tables as soon as you had finished them, everything was so effiecient. The grounds are maintaned well to, always saw someone mowing lawn etc. Rooms are lovely and comfortable, again everything seems clean and new, a very high standard and no issues with cleaner whatso ever. The landscape layout of the hotel is nice to and everything is easy to get to.

BAR STAFF
Bar staff are fantastic, best bar staff i have ever seen. So friendly and cheerful, we actually got really friendly with one or two (one really looks like american actor asam sandler!) and he actually came and sat with us on our last night after his shift, he was lovely. If you are friendly with them they will be friendly with you, i cant believe how many foreigners were rude to them jus pointing at the drink they wanted and not even smiling, they seem to like english as we are friendly, they were always joking and laughing with english people saying things like 'lovely jubli' and 'cheers mate'. There was also a guy who gave us bottles of wine for the room, he was to blame for a few hangovers! again he was a genuine nice guy and i think they liked us because we took the time to ackowledge them and be friendly with them. NONE of the bar staff asked or hinted for tips, we tipped a few times off our own backs. Sometimes on a busy moment u could end up with the wrong drink, this was a little frustrating but i didnt see a need to complain, we just ordered new drinks. the queing system at the bar is also frustrating but this is mainly down to foreigners pushing in front of you, it was only english who qued properly. (i honestly dont know how english have a bad name, we are definlty the most friendly and polite)

ANNIMATION
The annimation team are great, they work 15 hour shifts, 6 days a week and get about 200 quid a month! i never not saw one of them smiling, i admire them. They are always joyful and really take the time to get to know you, we got quite friendly with them and would often sit with them after midnight having a few drinks, they speak good english (they all speak about 5 languages) Momo, yuseff, speedo, titi are all great and we will miss them. i dont have kids but the kids club seemed really good (make sure your child finds an english friend though as french/german dominted). Some of the shows are not that great to be honest but you can't fault the effort, some shows are fantastic, variety show (look out for michael jackson-fantastic) and celtic pride show was good, the comedy sketches are also funny. Top marks for the annimation all round.

FOOD
Food was lovely, im a bit of a fussy eater and generally dont like hotel food but i never went hungry, lots of choice, yes some of it is repeated but on a 2 week hol i would expect this, at the end of the day they have to cater for so many people. no complaints with food whatso ever and waiters/waitress effiecent and friendly. my boyfriend really liked the food. The snack bar at the pool is nicley set out to and food is nice there as well.

We didnt do any trips as we really just wanted to chill out but i heard good things about them.

i went to tunisia last year and the year before and prefer morocco by a country mile! people are friendlier and dont expect tips, as i mentioned before, we tipped off our own backs but it was never expected and staff were always friendly with us. If your a bit younger and want somewhere to go after midnight ask the annimation to take you to the 5 star hotel next door, nightclub is fantasic, annimation usually gather few people who want to go at midnight and will take you and get free entry (drinks are mega expensive though cos its imported) we were wary of going at first (think we watch to much 'banged up abroad! )' but it was like a london VIP club, it was out of this world. The only reason im mentioning this is at midnight everything literally stops, you can still sit and drink but all lights go off etc. (apparently its local law, everything stops at midnight).

Iv ended up writing an essay but only bacause i enjoyed this holiday so much and one of the main reasons was the staff, and of course the hotel itself. Anyone would be mad to write a bad review. We hope to go back again and will defintly return to founty beach.
