“CHEAP BASIC CLEAN”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2011

I have just got home from spending a week in this hotel, the staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms are basic, but if your not travelling with young children this is ideal as a roof over your head type holiday.
They were painting the hotel during our stay , and a bar area was opened on the last day of our stay, I assume they were preparing for half term.
The pool was clean and well maintained/
I do have to add that on arrival to our apartment we asked to be relocated as we were origionally on the ground floor and were greated by a couple of cochroaches....needless to say we were satisfied with being moved to a higher floor and as a result had a very satisfactory stay . Adding to this we met some lovely frequent visitors, thay have stayed over 10 times....they love it, and we also met some cats, by the way if you feed them, they are yours for the duration lol .

Room Tip: ask to not be on the ground floor.

“I don’t go abroad to ‘live’ in a hotel. Just use it to stay in.”

If you want colour TV, Room service, and plush surroundings this is not the place for you. If you want a clean, comfortable, friendly place to sleep, bathe and keep your things while you go out and enjoy the wonders of Agadir this is the place to be. I personally don’t go abroad to ‘live’ in a hotel so for what it is the hotel is great value for money. Only a couple minutes walk from the beech and a couple minutes walk in the other direction to the town centre The Igoudar is ideally placed. The self catering rooms are very basic but are comfortable and offer everything an experienced traveller needs. Plenty of hot water, powerful shower, fridge, and very comfortable beds. The rooms are cleaned daily and fresh towels and toilet rolls are supplied each day. The staff are very friendly and will give advice on the cheapest souks and the correct cab fares to pay. The swimming pool is cleaned daily and attended by life guards at all times. Just underneath the hotel we found a very good restaurant called The Jazz. Well worth a visit for their excellent cuisine and friendly service. The second language in Morocco is French but you will find most waiters and hotel employees speak English and are genuinely friendly and willing to help and advise on places to go and prices to pay and will not rip you off. Beware though of the taxi drivers and the shop keepers. Always ask the cost of a taxi ride before getting the car and leave any souvenir buying until the last couple of days of your holiday. By then you should have a good idea of prices.
On the whole Agadir is a great place to visit. The food is excellent, the people are friendly, and the Igoudar is a great place for the real tourist. Someone who likes a clean, safe, friendly place to stay that is great value for money. I’d definitely go back there again.

“My heart sank as soon as I stepped into the hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2011

As soon as I walked into the foyer of the hotel, my heart sank. By the time we got to our room our hopes weren't high but we were still shocked at how bad the room was. It felt like a prison cell. Lino, concrete, cheap sheets and tatty towels. The doors were all warped due to damp. We took one look at the pool and pool area and decided to book out asap. Staying there would not have been a holiday. Far better other places to stay at a much better price.

“Very, very, basic! Not pleasant.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 July 2011

A group of four friends stayed at the hotel and it was not the best experience. The apartment hotel is very basic. The rooms were old and not very comfortable. Beds were quite hard and the bathroom quite simple. The hotel staff aren't very helpful. Service was poor as we were only given two towels to share amongst four despite repeat reminders that we were indeed four people staying there! The pool area looks decent but isn't on closer inspection. Pool is dirty and is always full of kids - you will also have to put up with selfish guests who throw towels on the limited sun beds early every morning despite barely using them throughout the day (hotel staff couldn't care less). Moroccon families tend to holiday in Agadir and book such places. Advice is if you want to enjoy your stay and have a remote bit of comfort then this isn't the place! Old, dirty, damp, uncomfortable and bad service would sum it up.

“Booked 4 nights - stayed 1!!!!!!”

Really run down, cockroaches, bedbugs, damp, windows opened to views of concrete, nowhere to relax by pool (not that you would want to as pool was very dirty and cloudy). Went 2 mins down the road and found something far superior which was cheaper. We are seasoned travellers used to backpacking in 3rd World countries. Avoid this place if you want a decent holiday.
