“I don’t go abroad to ‘live’ in a hotel. Just use it to stay in.”
If you want colour TV, Room service, and plush surroundings this is not the place for you. If you want a clean, comfortable, friendly place to sleep, bathe and keep your things while you go out and enjoy the wonders of Agadir this is the place to be. I personally don’t go abroad to ‘live’ in a hotel so for what it is the hotel is great value for money. Only a couple minutes walk from the beech and a couple minutes walk in the other direction to the town centre The Igoudar is ideally placed. The self catering rooms are very basic but are comfortable and offer everything an experienced traveller needs. Plenty of hot water, powerful shower, fridge, and very comfortable beds. The rooms are cleaned daily and fresh towels and toilet rolls are supplied each day. The staff are very friendly and will give advice on the cheapest souks and the correct cab fares to pay. The swimming pool is cleaned daily and attended by life guards at all times. Just underneath the hotel we found a very good restaurant called The Jazz. Well worth a visit for their excellent cuisine and friendly service. The second language in Morocco is French but you will find most waiters and hotel employees speak English and are genuinely friendly and willing to help and advise on places to go and prices to pay and will not rip you off. Beware though of the taxi drivers and the shop keepers. Always ask the cost of a taxi ride before getting the car and leave any souvenir buying until the last couple of days of your holiday. By then you should have a good idea of prices.
On the whole Agadir is a great place to visit. The food is excellent, the people are friendly, and the Igoudar is a great place for the real tourist. Someone who likes a clean, safe, friendly place to stay that is great value for money. I’d definitely go back there again.
