i stayed at this hotel about 2 years ago .the deds are hard rock with springs comming out of it ,dirts in the room ,and so one and one .the list is too long .........,and that was two years ago .i thought that they renovated this 5 stars hotel????? as the director of this hotel has said to me .but nothing happens.bad bad even very bad.
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL .

I would not know where to start from...

Pricey, Dirty, Very Bad Service, Uncomfortable, Gloomy, Bad Still Very Expensive Food...

And when I asked to change the room (dirty, old, airco wouldn't switch off, toilet clogged) they gave me the same answer (lye) they gave the other travellers who left comments here: "no other rooms available". Then they pretended they couldn't speak English anymore. Still the hotel is empty.

All in one, very low level of everything, even for Algeria.

Go somewhere else.

Our company booked us in the Mercure hotel for an assignment in Algeria. The first person to arrive noticed that THERE WAS NOT EVEN A MATTRESS ON THE BOX SPRING of his bed. It took several days of complaining for them to even put a mattress in his room.

I arrived later and found the room minimally acceptable for a short stay, but totally unacceptable for long-term stay. The rooms are not in very good condition, and for the most part, service was non-existent. As other reviewers mention, there is only ONE (overpriced and poorly stocked) store in the hotel "mall".

The final straw occurred after the second week when they started renovating the hotel. The sound of jackhammers went on until 9 or 10 PM making it impossible to stay in the room after work. When we went to the front desk to complain, and ask for new rooms away from the noise, they looked at us, said OK, then went to other customers and completely ignored us.

When we moved to the Hilton, the staff at the Mercure did not even ask why we were checking out several weeks early. They obviously did not care.

I had chosen this hotel because of the lower price than the HILTON. But the Hotel is not worth 5 Stars - the "glorious" times are over - many things are old, look dirty, are defect or do not work. Only 1 out of 6 shops in the internal "shopping mall" was open, the rest was closed. The pool looked nice, but because of some work which was done some time ago many stones and dirt is laying all around it.

Good are free Internet (W-Lan, even when very slow) and free Mini-Bar (4 bottles pop) and friendly reception
