For a non-smoking motel the halls and room were saturated with stale smoke. When entering the room the first thing I noticed was the TV remote on the floor and the ironing board next to the bed. I pulled the comforter and blankets back to find wrinkled sheets. The fitted sheet was snug on the top of the mattress, but not on the bottom. There were long hairs on one of the pillows. (If I didn't have a set of my own sheets from staying with a friend the night before I couldn't have slept in that bed!) When entering the bathroom I was hit with a musty mildew smell. The sink and shower faucets were rusty and the shower floor had red/brown stains that I can only hope were rust. The shower walls and curtain had hair all over them. There was a big brown stain on the ceiling tile above the shower from water damage. I was grossed out by the smell of the ONE towel in the bathroom when I grabbed it to dry off. I ended up using my dirty t-shirt instead. The surface of the bathroom counter had dark stains and was chipped. The bathroom doorknob and hair dryer were very sticky and caked with grim. I couldn't bring myself to even touch them! Luckily I had extra socks with me because the bathroom floor was VERY sticky and I didn't want to step on it after getting out to the shower. The bottom of my socks were BLACK from just walking around in the room. Since I only trusted my own sheets, I didn't have a blanket over me so I turned the heat in the room up, which resulted in a slight burning smell. After I turned the TV and lights off for the night, I could clearly hear the people in the next room talking. And I jumped out of bed to turn off the alarm the next morning, only to realize it was the people next door. Aside from the room being disgusting, the super thin walls, the smoky air, and no close parking available, there was also no continental breakfast. The coffee in the lobby did not appeal to me since the cups appeared to be dirty and there was sugar spilled all over the counter. ------------------- The ONLY positive thing about this place was the staff. I checked in pretty late at night and asked for a king size bed and the gentleman at the desk was happy to accomdate me. However, when I checked out early in the morning, I wasn't asked for my key card and the lady was unable to provide me with a recepit.
The free Internet access was limited to a desk in the lobby.
I chose this place based on the three star rating and price. BIG mistake! I wish I would have paid another $10 to stay somewhere even slightly nicer.
AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!
