I stayed here for my niece's wedding. I got a big suite because my whole family was going to be joining me. The suite was faaabulous! It was so spacious and modern. It had a ton of room and I was just really happy with it.

I'll definitely stay in a Doubletree again.

This is the hotel my sister chose for the guests of her wedding. It's OK. When I checked in, I was told that I would be getting a smoking room. Not cool. I asked if there was anything else they could do. They said there were no other suites that were non-smoking that were available. We requested non-smoking rooms when we booked the rooms - MONTHS ahead of time. If the non-smoking room wasn't available at the time of booking we should have been told then, not when we checked in.

We had food delivered from an outside vendor and the front desk person sent the delivery to the wrong room, even though there were quite detailed instructions. As the maid of honor to a bride with a big wedding party, I did NOT have time to chase around a delivery person.

The bar closed at 11:30 p.m. and wouldn't stay open later even for a large group.

I know I was stressed so perhaps I'm judging this hotel too harshly. Either way, I won't have to stay here again as I live downtown.

Overall this is a really nice hotel. Upon check in you get some delicious cookies which was a really nice touch!

Pros:
Very spacious, comfortable and modern rooms. Very comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast in a very cosy bar area. Very pleasant staff. They have a courtesy van that dropped us off and then picked us from the train station and Mall.

Cons:
Loud air cooling/heating which also was impossible to get right and took forever to react!

This hotel was very convenient for us as we were travelling on business. But downtown Chicago is a bit of a trek away. We were dropped of at the local train station and took the train down (approx 1 hour) into downtown Chicago. The Mall (I think it was called Woodside) was not too far and we were dropped off and picked up by the courtesy van. The driver was very friendly and she did her absolute best to take us to both places and pick us up.

Overall a bit far if you are visiting downtown Chicago but otherwise a very very nice hotel and if I was travelling on business I would definately stay again.

I have traveled around this planet of ours, places like this are too hard to find.
