“Great Hotel”

I live close to this Hotel and I never thought I'd stay in it for any reason, but during the time when the monster storm hit Chicago, our heat stopped working and we had to find a place to stay through the night with 2 kids. I called them and they were the first number I dialed and made the reservation the same day, the receptionist was very friendly, very fast check in, nice looking lobby and clean hallways( they really smell good), huge room and wonderful furniture. Free WiFi throughout the building and top it with a yummy free breakfast. They were great!! Since I live in the area I don't think I'm going to stay there again but I'm definitely having any guests who may visit from other states stay there. I'm sure they'll love it as much as I did.
Thanks!!

“Welcomed Suprise”

I stayed here with my wife and infant child on the way to Detroit. The check in was quick, easy, and efficient. The staff was courteous.

Rooms were large a little run down but extremely well cleaned. The hotel had a nice lobby with a fireplace and some seating.

The breakfast was fantastic. It is easily a 15 dollar breakfast. Scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, cereal, sausage, biscuits, and even white rice for the asian traveler.

I would absolutely stay here again.

“Great Stay”

I was very impressed with this hotel. The front desk staff was very professional and knowledgeable. The shuttle service to the Airport was an added bonus, I had an early flight in the morning. The hot breakfast in the morning was a surprise (bacon and eggs). I would recommend this hotel to business travelers.

“Very Bad Experience”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2010

While this Holiday Inn Express does have a couple things going for it like a great location and rooms that are absolutely huge i also had a number of disappointments with this hotel as well.

Check in was fast but not too friendly. I was sent up to my King room on the second floor.

You can tell that this is a very old property. The hallways have older carpeting but they were acceptably clean.

My first impression of the room was a good one. While the room carpeting was older and outdated it was at least clean. The size of the rooms here are truly incredible. The couch was clean and the bedding was good quality with a comfortable mattress. The TV in the room was amazingly old and small. As freakishly large as the rooms are in this hotel the TV's are equally freakishly small. I don't think the TV was even a 20 incher and was probably circa 1990. The picture was horrible with everything taking an odd blueish tint while watching it.

The next morning is where the wheels totally came off for this hotel. While taking a shower the tub couldn't even come close to keeping up with draining the water out. By the end of my shower i was in water half way up to my knees which is kind of gross actually. After i had dried off i folded the towel and tried to toss it on the towel rack and the rack itself totally came crashing to the ground. It was loud as all of the individual rungs came completely off and i'm sure the neighbors thought i was in a fight to the finish.

So after my less than pleasing shower experience i went down for what i hoped to be the typical nice Holiday Inn Express breakfast. This unfortunately didn't pan out either. It was early in the breakfast when i went down. There was no meat whatsoever offered. The was also nothing supplied to grab the biscuits from the tray, nor any spoons for the biscuits and gravy or the eggs. After asking the attendant for these items he went into the back and grabbed two spoons. When asked about the tongs for the biscuits he said he couldn't find any more and to just use my hands. Sick! The juices were all watered down so much they couldn't be consumed.

The high speed internet was free and the speed was quite good.

Overall i'd have to say that this is my worst Holiday Inn Express experience and unless i happened to catch them at the wrong time this hotel is best avoided.

“good place to stay on the way to 6 flags”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2010

Great Holiday inn Express. Front desk very helpful in proving directions, etc. Very clean. Great breakfast. No pool:( We knew that in advance from looking at the website, but would have been nice after a day of driving.
