“A Good Value for the Area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

Yes, the rooms are a bit dated, but the room was comfortable, and a bargain for the area. The breakfast was made up of fairly standard items (with some Japanese extras thrown in), but the food was prepared well, and the breakfast staff very attentive.

The bed was comfortable, the semi-suite layout was nice yet efficient, and the shower was great--in short, the most important things I expect in a value or mid-range hotel. Some of the reviews mentioned slow internet service...I heard several guests discussing this at breakfast, but can't directly comment--I used my own service by tethering to my 4G smartphone.

In addition, my arrival was postponed from Friday night to Saturday morning due to a snow-storm, and staff was available and helpful both on the phone and in person to deal with these changes.

In short, I'd definitely recommend this hotel, and would definitely stay there again.

“Good value for the deal I got”

The best way to describe this hotel is if you had a hotel built in the early to mid 90s and equipped each room with top of the line equipment for that era, then left it and had a maid clean it up until 2012, you'd get this hotel.

The rooms are spacious and comfy, with your own living room area. You get a microwave, fridge, coffee maker, AC, sofas, and a TV from the 90's. A big plus is that they have their rooms equipped with the TV Japan channel. They also have a complementary breakfast. the proximity to Mitsuwa is also fantastic, as it's nearly next door.

There were also a few slight cons for this hotel. The remote for the TV didn't work, and I had to hold down the power button on the TV for it to turn on. The hand soap in the bathroom had cracked apart, right when I opened the pack, as if it had been sitting there for ages. Some of the wallpaper was peeling off near the top of the wall near the door, but it was hardly noticeable. The wifi is free, but you'll be hitting around 20 to 40kbps on it. All of these things didn't really bother me at all, however.

Overall, a quiet, pleasant, homely hotel. There's no beating the price at $75 per night, especially compared to all of the other hotels in the area, which all typically go for around $100 a night. I'd stay here again, if I'm ever in the area.

“Spacious rooms, excellent hot breakfast, fabulous large hot tub with superb friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

My two girls and I are staying here at the fabulous Jameson Suites of Arlington Heights. We were greeted so nicely and given the best rate they had. The rooms are super spacious suites with 2 large double beds and a separate living area with a nice sofa bed that pulls out and and a decent size fridge, sink and microwave. Beds are extremely comfortable. Breakfast is hot and delicious. My favorite is the huge hot tub with large jets and its plenty hot. Very quiet hotel and in a great safe neighborhood. Will stay here again when visiting my parents.

Room Tip: I believe all the rooms are suites. We had 3 people, so the 2 double beds were great with a separat...

“Decent Hotel with some notes”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2011

Once upon a time this was an AmeriSuites. I have stayed here a few times on business without any problems or concerns. This trip I have begun to notice that updates are needed. The hotel is still in good shape but the rooms do need updating to still qualify as a suite. Rooms have a fridge, sink and microwave but the cupboards are bare, no plates, silverware or cups. The beds are very comfortable and rooms are clean. They do offer a decent selection and a few different items on their breakfast bar including items for their Japanese clients. The whirlpool has been out of order for about a year.

I had read a review where someone stated that there were people with ankle tracking bracelets and I did see a young lady with one visiting with someone I believe was her mother. She spoke to a young man who entered the hotel and told him that he would not see her shortly as she would be leaving the hotel. I believe that the county or city is contracting or booking rooms for people that are in some point in their legal situations at this hotel. The front desk would only tell me that they did not know what I was asking about but there were people in the hotel with the anklets. I did not have any issues with anyone here on this trip or past trips but have to admit that I will most likely not be staying here again as security was in my mind.

“Very nice and relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

This hotel is an older Ameri-Suites hotel (which appeared on our GPS). It is very clean and has earned two rewards- one in 2010 and one in 2011 that are showcased in the lobby for customer service and cleanliness. the rooms are very similar to Fairfield, Holiday Inn Express, and Ramada Suites: bed or 2 beds then a wall partition and a new sleeper sofa, tv, desk, small frig, and microwave. The last time I was in Chicago I stayed in almost identical room at Embassy Suites Rosemont and paid almost 160 dollars, where here I got an excellent Hotwire rate around 45 dollars. The breakfast is very simple- waffle station, cereal, yoplait yogurt, bagels and cream cheese, and sticky rice with condiments for their Asian guests. There is no swimming pool - only a hot tub/jacuzzi. There is nothing fancy about this hotel. If you want a clean place to sleep and don't mind that the place is somewhat dated considering bigger chains, this hotel is nice. For me and my family is was quite enough and comfortable.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the Arlington Hall next door are louder because the face the party hall's parking l...
