This motel is conveniently located on Alton's Beltline and close to plenty of food (St. Louis Bread Company), groceries (Shop 'n Save), and shopping (Kohl's, Alton Square Mall). The motel has seen better days and should be considered for saving money and convenience. The beds were ok and the bathroom was kinda small. But it was clean and everything worked and was operational. The continental breakfast consisted of pre-packaged muffins (that were good), bagels, eggos, and cereal. Overall the motel did what it needed for my needs.

The ground level room with two queen beds, table and chairs, dresser, mini-refrigerator, and microwave was cramped. To reach the bed next to the bathroom wall required ducking under the coat rack attached to the wall. Supposedly to alleviate the cramped conditions, the long dressers (for sale in the parking lot) were being replaced with a vertical dresser that left no where to place a suitcase but on the floor since there was not a folding luggage rack in the room. The room was clean, but the carpet in the hall was noticeably soiled and the smell of powder-scented deodorizer in the hall was over whelming. The Super 8 is in close proximity to Ponderosa Steakhouse (next door), Applebee’s, Target, and a shopping mall with a Macy’s. The free continental breakfast is offered in the somewhat cramped quarters of the hotel lobby. The breakfast included frozen waffles and bagels, cereal, pastries, and fresh fruit, but no bread or English muffins for toasting.
