Arrived late in the evening intending to stay two nights. The parking area was well lit. The desk clerk efficiently checked in several people who arrived at the same time. We had reserved and were put in a non-smoking 3rd floor room. The 3rd floor hallway had very unpleasant air that reeked of stale smoke. Upon opening the door to the room, the smell of the scented cleaning solution used to sanitize the room was unpleasant, even though the air conditioner was running and the room was very cold. Hotels can clean the rooms without leaving industrial cleaning odors. We circulated fresh air into the room but the cleaning solution smell remained all night, not a good nights sleep due to the poor air quality. The bed was comfortable and everything in the room worked but the easy chair in the room was shabby with a split in the rear seam of the cushion and needs replacement. The bathroom sink needs to be re-caulked. This hotel needs a good updating. The included breakfast was OK, lacking in fruit and fiber like many chain hotels, but the attendant in the breakfast room apparently had a problem with an earlier guest and was surly. We decided to skip the second night and check out early letting the desk clerk know why we were leaving a day early, the unpleasant air in the building. Suggest that you look elsewhere but choices in this area of Chicago are limited.

Hotel staff was nice. Free cookies at check in counter.
Got a double room through travelocity but over heard staff on phone
giving a way better rate than i got online. Oh well
hotel had laundry room ($1.75) and ice / vending machine on my floor. hotel goes up to 3rd floor.
Continental breakfast was standard. orange/ apple juice/ coffee tea. bagels, waffles, cereal, toast. yogurt, pastries etc.
room was typical of this star hotel...my floor didnt look vaccumed though, and border wallpaper and spread made the room look very 1980's. other than that everything was fine. free internet and free printing in hotel lobby. also had a small fridge and microwave. and super Walmart right down the street. paid about $65 per night including taxes but i had a travelocity coupon.

Our flight was cancelled at Midway and we could not leave for two days. We stayed at this hotel because it was available. The people working at this hotel are so very nice. They went out of their way to help us. One of the ladies at the front desk even took us to the train in her own car so we could go downtown. We called when were ready to return and they picked us up at the train station. I would stay at this hotel again and again.

Came to Chicago to visit with family and friends, and this was a nice place to stay. Clean and comfortable, and a very friendly staff. The breakfast lady even kept the breakfast room open a little later than closing!! A great staff makes this a hotel everyone can enjoy.
