“Chaotic and Rude Staff!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

I bought a living social deal for a romantic getaway at The Partridge Inn for $99 (the full price is apparently $199), and I was terribly disappointed by the rude and chaotic staff! Here are the specifics

1. We were given a room in which the heating didn't work (it was set to 80, but wouldn't go above 69). When we called the front desk, they sent someone who just restarted the unit and told us that if the room wasn't warm in half an hour, to give the front desk a call again. After an hour of waiting, the temperature had dropped to 68 and we called the front desk. This time, we were told that the HVAC expert wasn't on the property and that the best they could do was to offer us extra blankets. Despite protesting and asking for a change of room or at-least an electric heater, they wouldn't budge and just refused to help us. This was the first time something like that has happened to me - and I am not sure if it was because we were on the living social deal! So we had to settle for extra blankets. The temperature dropped to 64 that night. It was a terrible experience.

2. At 8:30 in the morning, we were rudely woken up by one of their staff, who just barged in after one knock! We were shocked and shouted "Who are you?" - at which point he apologized and left. Again, this was the first time such a thing has happened to me!

3. After complaining to the front desk at checkout, they just patiently listened and didn't even apologize.

4. We heard several other complaints from other people
- One couple said their room was switched at the last minute to a cheaper one. They were given a refund, but no apologies.
- Another couple came in for breakfast, and were informed that the vouchers they had were no good because Sunday Brunch started early (they closed up early to prepare for Sunday brunch!)
- A staff member was giving a heads up to the front desk manager that an unhappy family was about to complain to them (we didn't hear the particulars, since we had just checked in).

I've never written a review before, since mistakes happen and usually the hotel staff correct them or apologize, but this went beyond just mistakes. I would NEVER visit this place again.

Room Tip: Avoid this hotel - it's really not worth it!

We appreciate you taking the time to review us. We strive to give our guests the highest level of customer service and are truly sorry you feel you did not receive this service. Unfortunately, we were sold out the night you stayed with us and unable to fix the problem or offer you a more suitable room. Our engineering department is in the process of replacing any faulty units we have with new ones. This will be completed expeditiously.

Sincerely.

“Old fashioned value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

Visited the Partridge Inn for a first time on a 3-day weekend. Really helpful and friendly staff. The bed slept well; quaint and very comfortable room.
The excellent Sunday buffet was most impressive, they said it has been voted #1 in Augusta for many years - they have my vote! The seafood gumbo was incredible - best I ever had - fish was done just right. Grilled vegetables with smoked salmon or poached salmon. Carving station & omelets to order while you wait, a desert bar with dozens of choices from bourbon pecan pie to fresh peach pie, banana cobbler and mini-cheesecakes with fresh raspberries and blackberries! Not good for the waistline but the perfect recovery from a late Saturday night...

Room Tip: Ask the desk to make sure your room has updated Wi-Fi ( Internet), if you want that during March 201...

Thank you for your stay and most gracious comments. We are honored to be voted Augusta's Best brunch for several years now. Our new Chef has added his personal touches to our menu. We are upgrading our wireless access. It will be completed within a few days. Thank you again for your visit with us.

“Beds not comfortable and AC unit LOUD”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

Not what we expected. Beautiful hotel from the outside. Lobby and inside is pretty neat...blast from the past. Our room oddly had two beds in it. Both were very uncomfortable to me and my pregnant wife. Tv was broken. Ac unit made loud banging noise all night long. So didn't get the best nights sleep.

“Service Great; Room Was Not-So Great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

My husband and I stayed at the Partridge Inn for a one night stay. The staff was exceptionally friendly and very efficient. They welcomed our dog, too, which was a plus. The Partridge Inn is a beautiful hotel, and I was very excited to stay; however, when we first visited our room, the heat was on FULL blast and we had to open our Balcony door; it felt like a SAUNA (no exaggeration!). It was MISERABLY hot, and we had to sleep with no blankets as a result of the lingering heat (as a result, I did not sleep well); the blankets were not clean either. The floor did not appear to have been vacuumed, as it was very dirty. The bathrooms were NOT clean; there was hair in our shower and a spider in the sink. The balcony did have a BEAUTIFUL view. The room had a smell as if it has just been sprayed with a bottle of air freshener. I understand that it is older (much so), and that the room would be dated; the floor leaned, and there was a smell. I do believe that the pictures are a bit misrepresenting, The room size is smaller. It wasn't my best hotel experience; if it were tidier, I would have been a much happier client; the balcony view was great, the service was great, and the hotel is pretty. Wish it was cleaner.

Thank you for the compliment regarding our customer service. We strive to provide a high level of personal service, one reminiscent of the grand hotels of the past. I also appreciate you
bringing to our attention these other areas of concern. These issues do not represent the level of cleanliness we promote and expect for every guest. I can assure you they have been addressed. Being a historic hotel, all of our rooms are unique and not standard in size. Some rooms may have a balcony with a view, but be smaller than others. We do our best to accommodate each guests'
request and will change their room to one more preferable if available. Thank you for staying with us. We hope to see you and have the opportunity to serve you again in the future.

Sincerely,
Richard Lundy

“Wouldn't Stay Anywhere Else!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else in Augusta after finding this gem online, and the reality didn't not disappoint! The Inn is beautiful, full of Southern charm, in a wonderful location, and surrounded by nice neighborhoods with beautiful homes. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

We were traveling with our dogs, and the accommodations couldn't have been better. The room was very large and in a quiet corner of the hotel. It had a very big bathroom where the dogs could sleep comfortably in their dog beds at night. The neighborhood was lovely and safe with a nearby park that was perfect for dog walking. There is also a nice, quiet, enclosed courtyard on the side of the hotel with some seats where I was able to let the dogs off leash to run around a bit.

Every staff member was super friendly and helpful. The restaurant was wonderful. We ate dinner there twice, and everything was delicious! (Special thanks to the restaurant staff member I ran into in the elevator on Christmas night who recommended the shrimp and grits. They were amazing!)

Room Tip: The only drawback to the remote corner of the hotel we were in was spotty wifi and cell phone servic...
