“Very nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2011 via mobile

I loved my stay. Have stayed in several hotels in Augusta, Ga and this has been the best overall! Everything was clean from the lobby to the pool, to the breakfast area, to the exercise room and sauna to the room! The rooms have flat screen televisions, a fridge and microwave. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The staff was very friendly and one staff person brought me a towel(without asking) while I was at the pool area reading. There was also free bottled water available poolside! The motel was quiet and is walking distance to Denny's, Starbucks, Baskin Robbins and several other restaurants! Bowling ally, skating rink and movie theatre is also 5 minutes or less away. Great stay! Will definitely stay again!

Dear Mihu08,

Thank you for your kind comments on our hotel. We work diligently to become the cleanest and friendliest hotel in Augusta and it seems we are getting close to that stigma. We look forward to your next arrival and I am glad that were able to keep you hydrated at the pool. If there is anything we can do better or to make your next stay more enjoyable, please let us know.

Respectfully,
David Przedecki

“Good location, bad everything else”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2011

I used to stay at this Hampton quite a bit, but haven't been back in a while. It's one of the few locations that is still 100% outside access. Yup, that means musty rooms and pain in the butt stairs to the second floor. I don't know if they've upgraded their rooms. Other old Hampton Inns like this one have been sold to other cheap chains. My guess is that their location has kept them in business and the Masters golf tournament helps as well.

I prefer the Hampton off Jimmy Dyess just a few miles west on 20. I hope this note prevents any disappointment from travelers passing through and assuming this hotel meets the new Hampton standard.

Dear j2good.

Thank you for your feedback on Trip Advisor. I am sad to hear that our hotel did not meet your standards. It is equally hard to compete with the new Hampton Inn & Suites with today's market.

As we try to stay ahead of the game and anticipate our guest needs we sometimes fail because of our age. We are the 16th Hampton Inn ever built and that at times comes to a shock to our guests and a handicap to our name.

I can assure you that our hotel work diligently to keep our rooms clean and fresh and the service levels extremely high. Here at the Hampton Inn, you will discover the history, service and the timeless tradition of the Hampton Standards and of the Hampton Inn Augusta.

Thank you again for your comments and we look forward to seeing you again.

Respectfully,

“. . .”

My mother and I were in Augusta, GA for the Memorial holiday for a change in scenery. This Hampton Inn was easy to find and is located on an extremely busy street so pay special attention to the heavy traffic.

Upon entering the hotel, it was very clean and modern. The breakfast area was located directly across from the front desk. Breakfast is provided however we didn't take advantage of it. The clerk that checked us in was very friendly, informative and helpful. She placed us on the ground floor so that my mother didn't have to do a lot of walking (bad knee).

I was surprised that the rooms were located on the outside (meaning not inside the building with a hall, only a door separated us from outside). I'm leery of hotels set-up like this and took all precautions to secure our room at night.

The room was a bit smaller than other hotels rooms but it was very clean. There were double "queen" sized beds but I have to differ with queen size. It was more like an oversized full bed but very comfy and cozy with a fluffy duvet! (I read in the room that the Hampton Inn cleans the duvet after each guest visit - impressive!)

There was a flat screen TV and a table was against the wall with a chair. There was not a microwave or mini/compact refrigerator. There were supplies to make coffee however we never saw the coffee maker.

The bathroom consist of a toilet and shower/tub combo. The sink is located outside of the sleep area and next to the bathroom.

Overall the hotel was not bad, worthy of an average hotel. The staff made the difference with their courtesy and great customer service.

“HATS OFF TO THE STAFF”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 March 2011

I was there overnight with 28 High School students for a Drill Meet and the staff went out there way to make sure my students were taken care of. My hat is off to them for a job well done. This was my second year to stay in the Hampton with students and will stay again next year. Thanks for all the support you gave to us.

“Not a real Hampton Inn”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2011

A Pig with lipstick is still a pig! This was NOT a real Hampton Inn
AC/heater was noisy.
High speed internet kept disconnecting
Open bathroom/dressing area made it difficult to share with co worker
Desk chair was not comfortable to work in.
Every time I'd sit on mattress, it would slide about 5 inches
Tub was small - not like Hampton's comfortable tubs
Had to dress in the toilet for privacy - too tiny to turn
When I look for a Hampton Inn, this is NOT what I expect
This "motel" does not meet my standard
I would recommend as a nice budget motel NOT as a Hampton Inn
