“Okay for one night”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 April 2011

The bed was comfortable and the shower was clean.

The motel is within walking distance to several restaurants. We walked to PF Changs China Bistro and ate dinner. We walked back to the motel in the dark.

I could hear people above us walking around, but this is probably normal since we were on first floor.

We didn't use the microwave or use the burners. There were two coffee cups in the cupboard. There were no other dishes provided. The linoleum floor by the kitchenette and in the bathroom needed to be cleaned. If you have kids there, buy a cheap sponge mop and a disinfectant for the floor.

The paint was peeling on kitchenette's counter top and around the bathroom sink. The paint peeled off with a wet rag.

Room Tip: Try second floor

“Great Staff, Dangerously Criminal Location”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2011

We stayed at the Suites for about a month while purchasing a home when we moved to Augusta. The staff were great - the maids were very nice and responsive, the rooms were reasonably clean, and the management were friendly and helpful.

HOWEVER - staying there as long as we did gave us a VERY good idea of what the hotel was really like - or rather, the kind of people who stayed there or hung out in the area. Every night, suspiciously nice cars cruised the parking lot or sat in the nearby empty shoe store parking lot. Police cars were there every evening. There were loud arguments, and at least one case I knew of involving domestic violence. When I was out with my baby girls, a man tried to trade me drugs for sex - and this was outside the Chuck E. Cheese a couple buildings away! Just last week, a local meth dealer was murdered in one of the rooms - which close and lock but are by no means secure. When I heard that, a chill ran down my spine - my teen boys were in their own room at this place! - but I can't say I was surprised.

Now, I know the staff are trying to get the area cleaned up, involving police and a full-time security guard at night, but honestly, it's a losing proposition. The area they are in is just up the street from a run-down part of town, and right off an expressway. It is a natural spot for drug dealing and prostitution. While I regret this, I would have to firmly recommend against staying there, particularly if you are female or have children. It's simply not a safe place. We only stayed as long as we did because we had an imminent closing on our house; had we known how long we'd be there, we would have moved to another hotel, even though it would have cost us much more.

First of all i stayed there for 3 week so that i could spend time with my husband who is in the army.. I made the reservation on the phone the told me it would be 360 +taxes. I drove 8 hours then when i got there the told me that it was 475!!! I asked them about it they said that was right. on the internet the said they treat military and family great, well they didnt even give me my military discount!!! Also they said the kitchen had everything you need to cook with. Got there all i had was cups. told the front desk they told me it would be the next day. i didnt get them for 3 days when my husband came to spend the day with us and he went and talked to them. it was me and my 3 year old stayin there and on the weekends its a party hotel when the front desk leave they all open the doors and party!! the first weekend the cops was there!!!! also i hate for a room to be dirty so i cleaned my room the walls had stuff all over them, the bathroom smelled. they only cleaned the room once a week. i ended up have to buy trash bags and toilet paper. “Not Good”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2008

This hotel was removed from listing with Orbiz for a while, so I could not comment until now. There was another commenter also who has been deleted. I hope they have cleaned the place up and have someone there to police the place at night. No telephone in the room. When I stayed there, the "guests" ran the hotel after the desk clerk left the premises at 8pm. People were yelling outside most of the night. Kids were jumping around until 3am (My family and I had a lower room). Found roaches in the room. I was tempted to call for the police to quiet things down, but reconsidered since I could not contact anyone to get a refund. I cannot understand how anyone in their right mind would stay here.

  • Liked — Close to Mall and restaurants
  • Disliked — Noise generated by guests, no night auditor

“Good economy choice”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 May 2007

Savannah Suites, 3421 Wrightsboro Rd., Augusta, GA
Date: May 8, 2007

If you'd like an economy choice motel then this is the place to stay. It is located near a shopping mall and Regal Movie Theatre. A Waffle House is within walking distance of the motel. I felt very safe in the area.
Note that there are no amenities in the motel. However, it was very clean and did provide a kitchenette with microwave, coffee pot, small refrigerator, and cooking stove.
If I had any criticism it would be that the door was slightly askew and did not fit flush with the door jambs. But it did have a deadbolt lock. The doors appear to be a common problem as was noted by another reviewer.
Overall, if you're passing thru and need a place to sleep for the night economically then I recommend Savannah Suites.
