My reservation clearly stated Non Smoking Room. Checked in. No microwave. No iron or ironing board. Two TVs, neither one worked. No alarm clock. I went to the front desk to complain. Got one TV to work (missing cable box). But the remote controls did not work. Brought me an ironing board and iron. Could not find a microwave oven. Finally, they asked if I would like to change rooms and I indicated I would as long it was non smoking and they indicated I was currently in a smoking room, so no problem to move me to a non smoking room. Moved to a different room, allegedly non smoking room. It reeked of smoke. I went back to the front desk to confirm that I was in a non smoking room and I was told 2 or 3 times it was a non smoking room. In fact I was told that all the rooms on that end of the hall were non smoking. But they agreed to re-sanitize the room. They did and that helped the smoking odor. I was traveling with a co-worker who is a smoker and requested a smoking room. They put him right across the hall from me in what I was told was the non smoking area. So much for non smoking area. I opened the dishwasher and found an ash tray. You have to wonder why you need an ash tray in a non smoking room. My co-worker's smoking room had signs in it indicating they were non smoking, interesting enough the signs were right by ash trays. Got up the next day for the continental breakfast and no coffee. Who does not have coffee first thing in the morning? I was in the hotel for over a week and as the days went by, the smell of the smoke slowly came back. Hotel is very noisy. I also did the "bug" test. There was a dead beetle on the floor of the bathroom in my room on Monday. I left it. Thursday it was still there. We finished our work early and checked out early. We gave the hotel notice we were leaving and confirmed that there would be someone to give us our receipts when we checked out at 0500 the next morning. Went to check out, the computer system was down and we could not get our receipts. We were assured that the system would be up and we would get our receipts that day via email. Each of us left them with a phone number and email address to get our receipts. I called once we got home and they had lost the paper we wrote our email addresses on. I gave them my email address again and was told they could not email the receipts until the next day when the manager got back in. Finally, late the next day we got our receipts, from a Hotmail account. One has to wonder why they had to wait on the manager. One final observation, the high speed internet access ran slower than dial up.
