Hotel is located in upscale Colonia Palmira near American Embassy. Low criminal activity. Room was very clean and nicely furnished with Honduran styled furniture. Lots of dark wood. Coplimentary covered parking available next door, absolutely secure. Staff very helpfull in providing extra beds in room. Cashier was always available to exchange Dollars into Lempiras at rate equal to local banks. This service is extremely helpful if compare it with the restricted time, long lines and hassel at the local banks. Do not use the laundry service in the hotel. This service is extremely expensive. There are no written prices on the laundry ticket when I requested this service. I expected an usual charge of between $25 -$30 for the amount of laundry submitted. But to my surprise the bill was over $120 more than the cost of the room for one night. I could have easily bought new underwear and socks for less. The service was timely and tip top, everything was pressed and wrapped but in my opinion overpriced for Honduras.

This was the worst experience I have ever had at any hotel.
After making reservations through this site my girl friend and I set out from Granada Nicaragua to Tegucigalpa. Arriving around 10 or 11 pm we got a taxi to the hotel. When we approached the deck the clerk stated he had no reservation for my name. My girl friend asked him to check again and again he stated there were no reservations.
We asked to use a computer with a printer to print out the voucher. He allowed us to use the computer and I printed the voucher which clearly indicated the reservation was valid and they should honor it. He then stated they do not honor these reservations and that the hotel wasn’t going to honor the agreement.
We asked for another room using the paid voucher and he refused. There was no assistance from this clerk to help us get a room nor would he even talk about working something out.
The people at World Reservations did respond that the hotel has had several bad reports and would be removed from the listings and they also promised a refund.

This hotel is located in Tegucigalpa's 'hotel district', within walking distance of the city centre (if you feel a desperate urge to visit it...) and near amenities such as restaurants and souvenir shops.
The reception is very attractive, and public areas are beautifully furnished. Rooms are a good size and are done out quite simply in a 'Spanish style' - tiled floors and lots of dark wood furniture. The rooms are equipped with all necessary amenities, and 'extras' such as irons and ironing boards are provided on demand. Just like in Spain, rooms are also spotlessly clean. Breakfast (which costs extra) offers a wide range of fruits, yoghurts, meats, and bread, among other items. Food in the restaurant is fairly tasty.
The one odd thing about this hotel, however, is the staff. They seem to have no idea whatsoever how to deal with guests. Reception staff really couldn't be bothered to deal with clients at all and seemed extremely standoffish. Any request was met with raised eyebrows, sighs, and rolling eyes. I was part of a large conference group staying at the hotel and we nearly all had problems with housekeeping staff barging into our rooms at all times of the day and night - even when we had left the 'do not disturb' sign outside the door of our rooms. One friend was even telephoned at about 10 am by an irate maid who wanted to come in and clean the room and who had been thwarted by the 'do not disturb' sign and the fact that my friend had locked herself in! In my own case the maid came barging into my room one night at about 9 pm as I was sitting watching television in my nightwear. Similarly, during our conference sessions the young men charged with bringing in refreshments and setting up audio-visual equipment wandered in and out of the room chatting amongst themselves, seemingly entirely oblivious to the fact that a speaker was presenting a conference paper. Service in the restaurant was also pretty off-hand.
This is a very nice hotel and a great deal of care has clearly gone into its construction and decoration. However, the manager needs to have a severe word with his staff about getting their act together or bewildered guests who find themselves on the receiving end of bizarre behaviour are going to stay elsewhere next time they visit Tegus!
