The hostel itself is fine, dorm rooms have air con which works well, bathrooms are clean (cold water only), great wifi connection, comfortable common room with couches and cable TV. Staff seemed friendly although only one spoke English and he wasn't on duty all the time - something to watch out for if your Spanish is almost non-existent like mine.
The only problem is the taxi transfers, particularly to the bus station, are very expensive. This is a down-mark for the hostel not just because of its location but because it's the hostel's own airport-transfer taxi drivers who are charging these ridiculous prices. I didn't realise how much I overpaid at the time as SPS was my first stop in central america.
