“We had the best time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

Michelle, Jay and Andrea are wonderful hosts. Their personal touch made our vacation even more perfect. The new pool and bar area is wonderful! Be sure to try and Elvis Burger and the Jalapeno Poppers!! The food is great! There are many things to do near by.....you can relax by the beach or pool or go to the Hot Springs, Zip Line, or the Islands for some snorkeling. Don't miss Happy Hour, it is always a blast! We highly recommend a stay at the Diving Pelican if you are traveling to LaCeiba. We will be back soon!

Hola WayLin, it was great to get to know you over the holidays specially since eventually we'll be neighbors. Happy Hour is definitely a tradition that will carry on at the Barefoot Saloon, who knew running an inn and bar could be so much fun. :-) New Years Eve would not have been the same without you. Thanks for the review, keep in touch and we'll see you soon.

“A Fantastic Hotel in La Ceiba/Sambo Creek”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

The Diving Pelican Inn is an excellent place to stay when visiting La Ceiba. It is family-owned, the rooms are extremely nice and comfortable, the food is excellent, there is a pool, it is right on the beach, and everyone is very friendly and helpful. You can sign up for a day trip to Cayos Cochinos. For those of you who like to drink, there is a bar that is open in the late afternoon/early evening. It is secure with great views of the sea and the mountains. I highly recommend staying here!

Room Tip: There are only two rooms, both of which are excellent.

“Loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

We loved the Diving Pelican Inn. Michelle and Adrea are amazing people and were more than accomodating during our stay. Michelle really helped us out by watching our van on our visit to the bay islands.
The beds were super comfy, the food was delicious! and the company was great. The best hot wings we've had in central america.
We would definitrly recommend the Diving Pelican for a relaxing stay and some excellent service.

Well you are probably in South East Asia by now, and enjoying every minute. When we agreed to guard your car we had no idea what great people came included in the deal. Glad you could spend some time and stay with us. Thanks for taking time to review us, and happy Travels.

“The best of both worlds!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

If you enjoy the mountains and the beach, this is your spot! It rests along the coast of La Ceiba, with views of spectacular diving location Cayos Cochinas only a boat ride away. All the while, you have breathtaking mountain views coming from the other side, and the most incredible natural hot springs only 5 minutes away. Michelle is quite the hostess and very personable, and her bartender Donald is just the icing on the cake. He took us to Sambo Creek...just down the road from the pelican and steered us all through the village where he grew up, which offered an abundance of culture to absorb. Finally, the food served at the Diving Pelican was delicious! My grilled lobster with garlic butter was one of the best meals on our trip. A special thanks to Michelle and Donald for making our trip end in such a memorable way. We highly recommend this spot.

Room Tip: Only 3 rooms available, so book ahead!

“Thank you, thank you! Can't wait to return!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

We stayed at the Diving Pelican Inn on our way to the Bay Islands. Wow! The Diving Pelican Inn is beautiful, relaxing, and comfortable. Those things alone make it a winning destination in our book. But, what makes it truly unbeatable is the personal attention from the owners. Michelle and Andrea are the best! They are delightful and attentive, going above and beyond to make sure their guests' every need is met. We had wonderful meals together, drinks by the sea, as well as adventures into town. Absolutely unforgettable (Hey Michelle, I bet you'll never forget where the Avis office is, I sure won't!!). We arrived at DPI to meet our inn keeper, but we said goodby to dear friends.

I highly recommend the Diving Pelican Inn to anyone traveling to Honduras. Thanks Michelle and Andrea for making our stay perfect. Hope to see you again in February!

Thanks for the kind words you guys it was wonderful having you as our guests and lots of fun. I had to give directions to one of our other guests for Avis a couple days ago and obviously had a little chuckle over it. Wish you could be here with us for our New Years Eve bash, and really looking forward to a return visit from you. Andrea says hi:-)
