“as good as it gets...........for la ceiba”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2011

the best hotel in downtown la ceiba, with a location right on the beach.
request an ocean view room and you'll also get a little balcony, the views are nice. rooms at the rear of the hotel are about $5 a night cheaper but have no view and can be noisy when the bar across the street is busy.
restaurant and bar staff are good, breakfasts are decent (usually a buffet), dinners so-so. i feel that the overall atmosphere of the hotel is a bit off, i'm not sure what it is but it's just not personable. don't be shocked if you occasionally see a cockroach, it is the tropics after all. i hate the loud music that belts out over the pool area until midnight (what is it with honduras and their love of 80's and country music?) but happy hour out by the pool seems to be popular with the locals, so i guess it works.
people on this site who complain about this hotel have obviously not stayed in many mainland honduran hotels, it's certainly not great but there are very few that are better than this place.

When you go to honduras... do not expect an american lifestyle although u see pizza hut and dominos everywhere. u r still in latin america.... and latin america looks different then most peoples communities. but that was the point u came for an experience and something different.... and let me tell u i loved it!!!! La zona Viva is not scary lol. everything is livelty and beautiful and perfect for three hot girls looking for a long weekend of playa sol y arena. night life is awsum and this city is the Ibiza of Europe and the Miami of the upper Americas. i loved the hotels extensive grounds their beautiful pool and the friendly staff i forgot the guys name but he is young handsome in a spanish way and i think gay w glasses. he is the bestest lol. he told me where everything is. there is a restaurant behind the hotel.... the best effin chicken and rice ever omg i have never tasted ne thing that good. i am latin u no how many latin countries i have been to lol. i can not remember the name of it but if u r at the entrance of the hotel on the corner across the street it looks like a big bar or club. ur on the rite side of the road go straghit but south. not towards the stores the other way stay on the side that the hotel is on it is a bout a block down all u do is pass the hotel it is kinda big ur gonna see a big yard/parking lot and a rest. they have seating where u can see the ocean as well as inside. it . they were playing my favorite bachata songs and even sum of the gorgeous locals were dancing our plate was like 80 lempiras but 3 people ate from it we still had sum left and it was worth it. id do it again lol. i am craving for it jajaja. our room was ok it was a little damp actually which i thougt was weirrd and the decor not to my taste but it was ok all we did was sleep there. the complimentart buffet breakfast they have us was to die for i loved it. the juices omg and the sausages everything was great. i didnt want to leave. i love honduras the men and the women r so gorgeous. but they r either gorgeous or ugliis jejejejej. grls have pretty eyes especiall from the north of the country and so slim. i also tried baleadas iif ur at the front of the hotel make a left going north and then wen u see like the main street cross the street towards ur rite theyre is a lady who makes baleadas w her kids i paid like 40 cents they were so good. other then that i didnt eat im not a big eater sorry foodie people. they had good shopping if u like local stuff and te atmosphere is awsum i loved it u feel the energy. i recommend it for couples family and young people

“Very nice hotel”

I stayed May 28, 2010 while traveling from Roatan to Copan to
see the ruins. Everything was clean and nicely decorated.
Friendly staff. Good external security although there was no
room safe. Granite floors and stairs in the fancy (by my
standards) lobby. Pool, computers, poolside bar, exercise
equipment room, beach front, and a good restaurant. Don't
know if they have working wifi I didn't try. Restaurant food
was good and reasonably priced. Beer at the bar was cheap. At
US$90/night it wasn't cheap but far, far better than the
basic Motel 6-like places I usually stay at. I liked it. This
is probably the best hotel in La Ceiba.

“Good place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 June 2009

I stayed at the Quinta Real on my way into - and out of- the country. It is nice and clean and there is good food in the restaurant. My favorite hotel in the La Ceiba area is in Sambo Creek, but if i needed to be in this part of La Ceiba, I would definitely stay at the Quinta Real again. Both times i stayed, i found the staff very friendly, the internet reliable, and the rooms clean. They came through with the wake up calls, the taxis, etc. It was everything I needed on those particular days.
