the best hotel in downtown la ceiba, with a location right on the beach.
request an ocean view room and you'll also get a little balcony, the views are nice. rooms at the rear of the hotel are about $5 a night cheaper but have no view and can be noisy when the bar across the street is busy.
restaurant and bar staff are good, breakfasts are decent (usually a buffet), dinners so-so. i feel that the overall atmosphere of the hotel is a bit off, i'm not sure what it is but it's just not personable. don't be shocked if you occasionally see a cockroach, it is the tropics after all. i hate the loud music that belts out over the pool area until midnight (what is it with honduras and their love of 80's and country music?) but happy hour out by the pool seems to be popular with the locals, so i guess it works.
people on this site who complain about this hotel have obviously not stayed in many mainland honduran hotels, it's certainly not great but there are very few that are better than this place.
