We stayed here for New Year's Eve 2010. A great location as it is right on the main plaza of the town. A locked parking lot is a block away. The parking lot is behind a billiards hall (aka a pool hall), which might make some a little uneasy. With that said, I felt safe. The hotel's pool is very nice (a whole complex including a restaurant, bar, pool, parking) but it is a short car ride or moderate walk from the hotel. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby so you can put the car away and walk to most things. Personally, I was not fond of the hotel's restaurant (it wasn't bad, it just wasn't particularly good) and would suggest going out to find an alternative for each meal.
For us, the hotel was just a place to stay to enable us to be in Copan Ruinas for NYE and to visit the ruins (if you are in Copan Ruinas, you MUST go to the ruins) so it was fine. If you are going to spend alot of time in the hotel and expect luxury then this is not for you. FYI, the ruins are a short (less than 10 minute) drive from the hotel.
At the ruins, we hired an English speaking guide named Mauricio - I highly recommend him ($45 for 6 people for a 2.5 hour tour).
