I would like to set the record straight for this review:

1- Upon check in, the guests did not tell us the exact number of nights they required in Iguana Azul. This is quite common, as many hostel guests arrive with a flexible schedule. Our policy In Iguana Azul is to always try to accomodate our guests flexibility in schedule.

2- The guests arrived on a Wednesday. On Wednesday evening and we received a reservation for the room starting Friday. Our policy for reservations is to immediately place a note on the Guest room door indicating the date of the reservation, name of the person reserving & the room #. We have been using this method of reservations in our hostel for the past 15 years with virtually no problems. Apparently in this case, the guests who wrote this review did not see the note which had been placed on their door for the previous 2 days. Thus the guests were not " kicked out " as this review claims, but simply their room was reserved by another incoming guest.

3- At Iguana Azul we treat all guests with respect ... always ... we have been open now since 1995 and our reputation for professionalism, service and value speak for itself. Just refer to our reviews in guide books such as; Lonely Planet, Moon Guide, Rough Guide, Footprint Guide, Guide du Routard, Petit Fute, Reise Know How, etc.

4- The guests were offered another alternative for accomodations. We kindly offered them a lovely room in our sister hotel next door to Iguana Azul with a very substantial discount - even offering free breakfasts, so that they would have comfortable accomodations for their remaining nights with us. They chose not to accept this generous offer. Instead, they became rude and offensive which was truly uncalled for and totally inappropriate.

5- Our policy in Iguana Azul is to attend each and every guest in a professional, courteous and honest manner - those who arrive with a reservation and those who walk in. The experience of these guests in no way indicates a lack of professionalism or respect on our part. They were treated fairly and with respect at all times during their stay with us.

Thanks so much for your review. We're glad to hear you liked the cleanliness & layout of Iguana Azul. Regarding the WIFI, during the time you were here, our router was experiencing problems - the next day we replaced our router with a brand new one. In terms of your request to use the wireless in the hotel next door, it must be noted that the hotel next door is a separate hotel from Iguana Azul, thus residents of Iguana Azul do not have access to it's facilities. At Iguana Azul we take pride in providing the best hostel experience in Copan - I am sorry that I may have come across as rude or uncaring regarding the WIFI situation when you stayed with us, but you should take into account that in this case, the problem with the router was simply beyond our control.
