“Ok hotel compared to other Honduran Hotels”

You don't really look for luxury on the island of Utila. This is a dive island where cheap lodging rules all. The Sea eye is about a 15 minute walk from the dock (remember this if you have luggage). This is both a bad and good thing. The good thing about it is it's quiet and relaxing. The bad thing is you have to walk about 10 minutes for anything. Scooters are available for rent near the city center, but not always available. There is a nice beach right next to the 'resort' with a small entrance fee (approx 3 USD) but well worth it. The room i had had two twin beds though I asked for a single room. it had a TV, and shower/toilet which was more than I expected being in Honudras.

I don't understand the 'Sea Eye' part. It is not on the water like the name would suggest. Instead its more inland and actually faces the inland lagoon.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the lagoon

“Loved this hidden resort!”

Sea Eye is a growing resort at the far end of Utila Island. Run by John and his wife Lazuanda (and their 2 little ones), I felt like part of the family. It was an all-inclusive package and they couldn't do enough to make sure I was comfortable, acquainted with the small island and introduced to the locals. They made sure I didn't miss the included excursions as I had a busy SCUBA schedule. A small outdoor bar is open Fridays and Saturdays. You can eat indoors or out but they have the only restaurant on the island with air conditioning! This resort is growing and host special events during Carnival and New Year's and I can't wait to see the palapa in full use! They have a private beach with watersports, hammocks, and chairs. They offer sever different categories of rooms, each with it's own personality. I highly recommend it for singles, couples and families!

  • Liked — Friendliness of the staff
  • Disliked — No pool but it had a great beach!
