We loved our 2-night stay at Posada de Santiago. The room was spacious, clean, well-appointed and cozy with romantic accents including a fireplace and candles galore. The lakeside sauna was delightful and a great warm-up before plunging into the large pool. The really hot jacuzzi overlooking the lake and volcano was heavenly. The food was delicious, the best I've had at the lake, and the prices reasonable. The owner and staff are friendly and attentive and really know how to make you feel welcome. It was a fantastic romantic getaway. We will definitely return!!

We just returned from a wonderful 10 day visit to Guatemala. Unfortunately only 2 of those days were spent at Posada. We were two couples. One stayed in Casa Sol which was amazing. We loved the stone walls, the comfy bed, the views out of the windows, the fireplace, and clean bathrooms. The second couple stayed in one of the rooms in Casa Orquidea. Their room was a basic motel type room which would have been fine with them if they hadn't seen our little casita. We made our reservations at the last minute so didn't have a choice of rooms.
WE loved the pool/lake area and had lunch there when we first arrived. The weather was a bit too cool for the pool, but the hot tub was great. We enjoyed several meals at Posada and loved everything. Check out the desserts!!! All in all, a cute, scenic place.

Lovely accommodation, not right in the middle of town but its only a short tuc tuc ride away.

I have been to Santiago four times since 2008, and I am certain that for tourists, the Posada is the best place in town. The rooms are beautiful, the jacuzzi/pool/dock gives you the best lakeside viewing, and the food is delicious. The prices are so reasonable for what great amenities you receive. For breakfast, I highly recommend the blue corn pancakes, and for dinner, the eggplant is a great vegetarian option (though the entire menu is delicious!) Even if you don't stay overnight at the Posada, it is definitely worth going to for a meal during your day trip to Santiago.
