We were fortunate enough to stay at this hotel. It is very beautiful, conviently located, and had friendly and accommodating staff. The restaurant was very good and the prices were affordable, lots of hot water, fresh towels, free internet (both wifi and provided computers), secure underground parking, pool and hot tub...all of this and an unbelievablly low price. This hotel has a variety of rooms and had a lot of local people staying here along with us. Breakfast is included.

Although this hotel may seem expensive in guatemalan standards, it is well worth it. We paid $61.00 USD for a double room with a spacious area with a couch, chair and a counter with a sink. It had windows(abiet could get a wee noisy) and the showre was hot, full breakfast was super and 2 computers with unlimited free access. Staff are all terrific..big hugs when we left. Great hotel in a great area.

I am truly gobsmacked by some of the reviews I have read. It is clear that what is comfortable and good to a Backpacker in his 20s or 30s is not the same as defined by the more mature professional traveller looking to travel comfortably. I missed out on the backpacking when I was young. Now at the "ensuite" stage of my life when I can and do want to travel to places that don't involve lying on beach for two weeks, I want to do it comfortably if not luxuriously. We arrived at this hotel in the middle of an Intrepid comfort tour through Mexico, Guatamala and Belize. The room we were shown to had wires coming out of the top of the shower (a serious H&S hazzard) and the bathroom stank of mould. After finding a couple of dead cockroaches we decided not to stay and moved to a clean, newly refurbished posada across the road at a lot less than the list price of this hotel.
