“Love this hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2011

My family went to Guatemala in June for vacation. The best hotel we stayed at in Panajachel Hotel Cacique Inn we go there every year.
We knew the original owner of the hotel she pass away this year so her nephew took over. He is doing a wonderful job and he spoke English. The people working there is very nice they make sure we were all comfortable their were plenty of beds, towels and water bottles for us. We were a group of 8 people in 2 rooms. The breakfast was included 3 to choice from and everybody ate no extra fees and the food was very good. The view of this hotel is beautiful with all different kind of flowers and a pool with towels. They play musics the oldies and the marimba which my mom enjoyed.
The rooms are very clean, very large rooms and bathrooms with hot water. Walking distance to the lake and shopping. You can also catch a taxis (tootoo 5 Q per person). I give this hotel a 5 stars keep up the good work I will see you next year.

“Nice for older guests or families”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2011

This is a nice hotel, conveniently located, walking distance from the lake or calle Santander (the place to be at night!). The gardens are pretty, the rooms are spacious and clean, there's a nice pool (REALLY cold water...I love it!) however, it isn't the most expensive hotel in Pana, but it isn't cheap either, so I wouldn't recommend it to the budget traveller, and it doesn't have a view of the magnificent Lake Atitlán...so, points off for that!

I recommend it to people travelling with children because of the gardens, pool and spacious rooms to accommodate an extra bed or a crib, and I recommend it to the older folks because they usually look for a more comfortable stay rather than budget, right? you'll probably enjoy this place...I know I did, but I'll stick to my budget-friendly hotels...or at least a hotel with a view when visiting Pana!

“Great hotel, great price, great food, great service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 June 2011

Really nice place, has fruit trees all over the landscaped courtyard area. Rooms are large and beds are comfortable. Breakfast is usually included and is filling and tasty. If I go back to Pana I'll stop in again.

“Big rooms, gorgeous pool and garden area.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 June 2011

Panajachel is the main tourist launching spot for Lake Atitlan. I really wanted to see the towns on the other side of the lake, and Panajachel is a good base for that. The Cacique Inn is close to the docks. (1 block or 4 blocks, depending which docks you're using.)
I was surprised how big my room was. Everything was clean and worked well. I had dinner in the restaurant one night, and the food was good.
My hotel owner in Guatemala City booked the room in Panajachel for me as a part of a package, so I don't know the specific rates.

“one of my favorite hotels anywhere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 March 2011

Stayed at Cacique Inn for a night in 2010 so when we planned another trip this Spring, I knew I wanted to come back. This hotel is very affordable yet super classy--it makes me feel like I've travelled back to Havana in its heyday, with leather furniture, huge art deco frosted glass sliding doors to the hotel rooms, and a very pretty pool area. For no extra charge, you can get room service and help lighting your fireplace. Nights can get cool with the mountain air and I highly recommend getting a bottle of wine and the excellent sun-dried tomato dip and eating in front of the fire!
