Nestled in between two villages, is Finca Bosque. A two minute stroll from your casita through the coffee and banana trees will land you right on the shore with an incredible view of the lake and volcanoes. The casitas are very cozy and clean with mayan textiles on the beds and are surrounded with luscious folaige and flowers. All around the property are little sitting areas, so you can find the perfect one for any time of day and mood. The hosts are very knowledgable, helpful and personable. They gave great recommendations on restaurants and will book massages and tours for you. Breakfast was very good with fresh fruit everyday and great coffee hand picked from their property and roasted for them. We also bought some by the pound to take home. They catered to our vegetarian needs and upon our extremely late arrival, they were still there to greet us and open up their little outdoor bar for us. When we went, each casita was only 10 - 15 USD per night, per person, free filtered water and hot showers. There is also a Mayan guard on duty 24 hours a day. The location is perfect, away from everything, but only a short tuk-tuk ride to San Pedro, San Marcos, and San Juan and a boat ride away from all of the other villages and the lake. Reconnecting with nature was just what I needed. I would love to take a winter break there every year!
