I stayed there with a group from my church last month. We had a great stay, rooms were clean, staff was very helpful (specially when ordering takeout, thanks Melanie!). I did not know of this hostel and I have to say, it is definitely close to the airport and is great value for what you pay. A guy at the airport recommended the hostel to me while I was waiting for the group to arrive and since I had not booked a place for them to stay after they came back from Atitlan, I decided to give it a try. If I had read the reviews here, maybe I would have not made that choice, but they did mentioned the place was under new management, which I believe is true and I am glad I gave it a try. There is group coming this month and they even asked to stay there!

I'm from Poptun, Peten.. and went to the city on bussines.. I needed to spend the night and a friend recomended Hostal Los Volcanes.. And was I glad he did.. I had a wonderful stay. Yader helped me with all i needed and was very hospitable.
It was very close to the airport, so time is never wasteded.. and it is a very clean place to stay..
It shows how the new management really improved the customer experience..

I had a great stay at Los Volcanes, the staff was so nice. This was my first time in Guatemala, if I Ever go back def I'll stay at Los Volcanes. They have complimentary breakfast, shuttle to the airport at a reasonable price.

When I went to my spartan room, there was literally still crap floating in the toilet. There was no shampoo, no soap and I had to ask for a towel. We let our in-country host arrange this for us as our flight was leaving early. I don't think most Guatemalans would want to stay here. It is isolated and just plain crappy. Make another choice for your stay.
