While preparing for my trip to Guatemala City to visit the little girl we are adopting, I read good reviews of the Posada de los Proceres, so decided to stay there. One of the staff picked me up at the airport,which was nice, but the moment we arrived at the posada, I knew I had made a mistake. My room had no hot water in the sink, and I had to run the shower several minutes to get hot water there. The pillows were just chunks of lumpy foam rubber, and there were tiny bugs in the bed, crawling over me all night. It was noisy all night with music playing, a blaring TV, and people talking. I did not feel safe. One review I read said there is a restaurant and air conditioning. There was no restaurant, and a pedestal fan must be their version of air conditioning. The continental breakfast consisted of toast, juice and instant coffee. I had planned to stay six nights, but I left the first morning. It was a bad experience all around.
