As I said before, I really like this brand of hotels, so my experience couldn't be different from what I expected: Big and confortble rooms, very good cleanliness, the staff was very caring and helpful. The restaurant was very good as well. There was two downsides I found: The first one is that we need to pay for Wi-fi internet connection. Second, is that, everyday the streets around the hotel were very noisy (ambulances, polices, cars) during 17h up to 19:30 and, somedays, during the night... But still was a very good experience in Guatemala.

I have been asked numerous times how the hotel was upon completion of my trip to Guatemala City. My response, after much thought, was that it is a hotel. While perfectly nice, it is just a hotel with little flair. The bright spot of the stay, however, was the staff. With little Spanish skills, I found most of the staff excellent in English and very courteous. However, as was reported in previous reviews, the breakfast was all inclusive. There was not a section for paying customers only, that I could see. Overall, adequate place to stay for decent price.

This hotel has excellent views of the city from Zona 10. The rooom was very clean and comfortable.

I stayed in the Holiday Inn Guatemala City on a business trip on the 17th floor which is a business floor. The hotel interior looks renovated and nice. The room was roomy and comfortable. Although the hotel has many floors there are only two elevators for the hotel’s guest causing a slow elevator service that required taking enough spare time when you plan to meet someone in the lobby on a specific time. Steam iron was available in the room and this helped.

The breakfast was not so rich with food choices. The breakfast room is on the open second floor looks like a mezzanine floor, the room is small and crowded. The buffet is not fully free and during my visit I always had to stand in line until I was served.

Internet connection was really not friendly and the wireless communication was interrupted. I had to ask the front desk to fix the Internet problem several time and only after a long time it was fixed.

The people in the front desk not always speak English as well as the Telephone Operator who is answering you on the phone, when you call from your room.

The hotel is located near a nice mall, Mc Donald and restaurants.

The hotel has free shuttle service from and to the airport which is about fifteen minutes drive from the hotel. The shuttle leaves the hotel on the hour but it doesn’t operate 24 hours. I left the hotel at 5 AM with the shuttle. Free coffee and some refreshments where in the lobby for those like me who checked out early.
