“Beautiful hotel with a luxurious touch”

I stayed 2 days in the Princess Hotel in Guatemala City. The location is great - close to the airport - means you don't lose vacation time for the commute to the airport. The hotel provides a free shuttle. The staff at the reception was extremely helpful with all concerns. I had forgotten to remove the "Don't disturb" sign from my room and they sent a very meticulous chamber maid to clean up the room in the evening which was squeaky clean afterward. I had only asked for the free coffee supply that you receive for the coffee machine in your room once a day but they offered to make up the whole room.
I stayed on the Imperial (5th) floor. The white linen was fine, smooth and nicely embroidered and the bed was very comfortable to sleep in. The TV had a large flat screen, ~ 90 channels, English and German speaking channels were available. My internet password was included - it was a number that I got with my room key, same for user name and password and the internet access was fast and good. I loved the green and white marbled bathroom. The shower was strong and hot. Shower cap, shoe mitt, shampoo, conditioner and soap were provided. The breakfast buffet offered a broad range of items from cereal over fresh fruit, multiple bread choices, ham, sausage, cheese and scrambled or hard boiled eggs, and I understand the lunch and dinner food was well liked in my group. Due to very specific diet requirements I bought my special food at the big market hall and can't judge the food in the hotel myself. I haven't checked out the gym or the pool - my group went on various excursions and I was too tired.

“Good enough...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2010

Nice breakfast buffet, a bit limited dinner menu, a nice bar with loooong happy hours - clean rooms with perfect beds for sleeping. What more can one wish?
The transport from the Aurora Airport was smooth and fun, a talkative driver explaining what one needs to know. Good. Quick check in - an upgrade paying 25 USD/day is worthwhile. One get a bigger room, more comfortable bed, internet included and 1 drink/day.
Unfortunately both rooms i had during 2 stays had quite boring views from small windows.
But the rooms as well as the rest of the hotel is clean and friendly. One can enjoy a long breakfast from a wellsorted buffet with the morning paper being delivered within seconds.

Definitively a good place to stay in Guatemala city.

“Beautiful Hotel....I Will NEVER stay there again!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2010

Other than the hotel being "pretty", I found nothing worth coming back for. My sister and I stayed there for a week and we will NOT be going back. The staff at the front desk was extremely unfriendly (although the room staff was very nice). The worst part of the entire trip however were the bed bugs!! yes, you read correctly...BED BUGS!!! I happen to have been so lucky that some of them came with me in my luggage. I highly advise that you do not bother with this hotel....

“Conveniently located to restaurants, shops and airport”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 July 2010

We stayed here for one night and booked it because it was close to the airport. We were able to take the free shuttle to the airport which was an added bonus. The breakfast buffet was included in the price of our room and there was a nice variety of hot and cold food on the buffet (french toast, typical Guatemalan food, fruit, cereal, pastries, eggs, etc.). The hotel was well-kept. Our room was on the 5th floor and it was clean. The bed appeared to be a full-size mattress so it wasn't as roomy as we would have liked for two people, but it was very comfortable. The bathroom was modern with granite on the counters, floor and shower. The price of the room was what you would typically pay for a decent room in the U.S. so it was a little on the pricey side in terms of Guatemalan standards. Also, you do have to pay to use the internet in the Business Center. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and we would recommend this hotel.

“WHAT A "&*$%ing" NIGHTMARE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 May 2010

First of all the desk staff is completely clueless to customer service and satisfaction. What kind of hotel has loud parties until 4:00 in the morning. The loud music is insane, the room walls vibrate all night long!!!!

You cannot complain because they simply just say " I'm sorry" but the party goes on till the morning hours. We are stuck because our rooms are prepaid through Hotels.com but we are seriously considering loosing our deposit to counter the effect of sleep deprivation !

What a lack of respect. They should advertise as an all night "Private Wedding Party Disco" not a hotel to sleep at.

If you need at least more than 2 hours sleep to not stay here.
