This hotel is kind of good We spent 3 days in Oct. 2011 and one of those days there was a fire alarm in the basement and staff was not very clear on the situation. We asked how the fire started and they were too secretive about the fire causes and future risks. The pool was nice, breakfast was gorgeous and abundant, we also requested to the front desk girl about getting to Antigua Guatemala and she was very funny. She showed us a map in a sheet of paper and draw a straight line and said "from here go to here" we laughed all at her response, we said "yes, but, tell us which is the way to get there, which boulevards and highways?" LOL!!!! but the hotel is nice and clean, a crowded zone in Guatemala City but nearby you can find restaurants and is next to Miraflores Mall. We also requested in advance since we paid like 30 days in advance about being in contiguous rooms and they said they could not select them in advance. Pretty bad!!!

When flying in and out of Guatemala City, I always turn to the Grand Tikal Futura as my go-to hotel in the capital. The service is excellent, the facility is impeccably clean and well-maintainted, and the restaurant serves consistently delicious fare. The rooms are well appointed and spacious. I recommend the Master Suite, which offers plenty of space and comfy mattresses.

The hotel is really nice we stayed here for a weekend while we explored the city. The hotel is one of many proper hotels in the city. We really liked the fact that there are several shopping malls nearby. The staff at the hotel was also super good to us and made sure were treated very well knowing that is was our honeymoon. We had the all you can eat seafood buffet and it was the best meal we had in Guatemala. The malls are really nice and the prices are not bad either. I would stay here every time I needed to do travel through the city. The museums are nice in the city. We traveled by hotel taxi's to all the places we wanted to go just to be safe as the city is known to be very dangerous, we had no problems whatsoever.

Have stayed here many times. Sometimes different rooms have smelled of smoke, and others like mold, but have always been moved to another room when we asked to. It is close to a mall, which is nice. I would say it is good for business travel, and their restaurant is pretty decent.
