“Great airport hotel”

A 9:30pm arrival from Houston and a 6:30am flight to Flores meant my friend and I needed somewhere close, reliable and good value to crash for our first night in Guatemala. Thanks to a great offer through Expedia, and the fact there was free airport transport, we picked the Radisson.
The driver was waiting for us when we came through arrivals, and the hotel was very near by. Somehow we ended up with a suite, which was absolutely huge! Although I'd booked a twin room, it turned out there was only a superking bed, but we were so tired and the bed was so massive we weren't about to complain. It was really comfy too.
The only problem we had was that we couldn't work out how to turn on the shower and had to call maintenance! We were expecting it to be one of those lever mixer taps like you get everywhere these days, but to turn it on you had to pull the whole tap away from the wall rather than just tilting it. But that was the only issue.
The free internet terminals on the landings were very handy, and there was also free tea and coffee, fruit and biscuits in the lobby which made a good little breakfast while we waited for the 4:15am (ouch!) airport shuttle.
I'd definitely recommend this hotel for anyone arriving on a relatively late flight as it's a completely hassle free way to start your trip.

“so so”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2010

I have stayed at the hotel three times and there is nothing great about it. The rooms are okay-they all smell like cigarettes and are 70s themed and loud. The hotel is conveniently located, and the front desk staff is moderately helpful.

The fitness center has been under construction the past two visits i have stayed and the equipment is seriously outdated.

The mall is a few blocks away and not a problem to walk to if it is daylight.
The restaurant and bar inside the hotel is always empty and just isn't a fun place to hang out at.

“Good experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 March 2010

Overall, a good experience. Pros include a good/safe location within walking distance of many restaurants, offices, shops, etc. Clean, large room. Excellent buffet breakfast is a great value...approx $6 USD. Price was good too, booked early for $60 USD rate on their website (wknd). Service was friendly and helpful.

The only cons was that the hotel's common areas seemed a little worn and dated. Although the beds seemed new, the entire property needs some sprucing up/renovations.

“Highly recommended hotel.”

After holidaying in Antigua, my boyfriend and I stayed at the Radisson Guatemala City for just one night, simply to be closer to the airport for a very early flight the next morning (airport is 10 mins away by free hotel shuttle).
We were extremely happy with our stay - staff accommodating/helpful, room was VERY spacious, clean and comfortable (we booked a 'junior suite'). Excellent views of Guatemala City. We ate at the ground floor restaurant, and the meal was delicious.
For those concerned about the safety of Guatemala City - I can recommend that this area (Zone 10) is safe, comfortable, and clean.
Highly recommended hotel.

“Guatemala City”

Make sure you're in Zone 10 for safety; this hotel has an all female floor for women traveling alone - different, but nice.
