When we checked into the motel the clerk advised us that we had to post a $15 refundable pet fee. She charged myt credit card, handed me a receipt and informed me that I could bring the receipt back at check-out and get a credit for the $15. At check-out, the clerk on duty told me I had been misinformed by the night clerk, that the deposit was not refundable. This kind of situation is clearly the result of poor management.
When I got into the shower the tub was wet from my wife's bath. Where I was standing looked like I had dropped dirt into the tub. The dirt was coming from the bottom of my feet after having walked on the room's carpet. The carpet is filthy.

This place is an old, run-down motel that was recently renamed a Holiday Inn Express. It's scheduled for renovation next year, but until that's done, avoid this place. It's a dump.

We really like the Holiday Inn Express hotels, but this one is not up to their standards. It's not even up to a Motel 6 standard.

You can tell they have tried to put some nice touches in the lobby area, but the work is shabby. The room was smelly, with worn linens. There is no elevator for disabled guests. The pool was closed.

We immediately went back to the office and cancelled the room and went next door to the Hampton Inn - same owners, but this Hampton was built within the last 4 years.

Wish I had read these postings before we booked the room.

We stayed here while visiting the Andersonville Prison and POW Museum and reserved a room weeks ahead. It was 95 outside and you would think they could have turned the air conditioning on before we arrived, even after we turned it on it did not cool it off, we went out and bought a fan, The pool was locked up and they said they would unlock it but they never did. We called them again and they said we couldn't use it because there were chemicals in it. Rooms are very small, the bathroom is hardly big enough to turn around in. We reserved a king with a sofa sleeper but we couldn't even fold out the bed untill we took the huge sofa table that was in front of it outside because there was no where to put it in the room. We are Priority Club members and this one is way below the average Holiday in that we have stayed at .

I booked adjoining rooms for my family at this hotel several weeks ago. It was the worst hotel stay I have ever had. In the middle of the night the smoke alarm started beeping- I presume the battery was going bad. I called the front desk and they said there was nothing they could do. I tried to remove the smoke alarm from the wall and take the battery out but it was "tamper proof" and could not be removed. I called the front desk again but was told "sorry" -However the clerk said the manager would discount the room due to the inconveinence. It beeped loudly the entire night!

The next morning a sleepy teenager was at the front desk. She said the manger would be available "later". We ate breakfast and packed up. When we checked out I was told that the manager was "out of town" but would call me. The hotel was so disorganized that I couldn't even get my bill. But my credit card showed that I was charged over $90 for each room.

The desk clerk gave me a card with a local and 800 number to call about the horrid stay. BOTH numbers are disconnected.

I sent the corporate office two emails but no one has responded or called me.

I know that many of these hotels are franchises, but they are supposed to meet a certain standard. Hotels normally change batteries in smoke alarms on a regular schedule so this does not happen.
