I'm staying here because sadly this is the only hotel in Americus that advertises a government rate (which I am required to use on this project) that complies with the $76/night maxium allowed by GSA.
With that explanation offered, the check in was pleasant and without problems. The room is adequate, but no more. It is small (king bed) and cramped. The walls are dirty, the ceiling is stained. The furnishing look like they are out of a granmother's attic. The desk wobbles, the swivel chair covering is torn. The bathroom is postage stamp sized and the overhead fan sounds like a jet is taking off.
One ice machine -- immediately outside the office -- is out of order. When the desk staff was asked about they appeared not to even know that it wasn't working (and obviously hadn't been working for weeks). Their response was that there was another one in building 5 -- no apology, no explanation where in building 5.
The breakfast -- advertised as "deluxe" -- is pathetic. Don't know what the definition of "deluxe" is here in southern Georgia, but it must be different from the rest of the US. Plan on eating out unless an all starch breakfast fits your dietary restrictions. Another patron asked about the absence of saussage or bacon -- he was told that it is just "too smelly."
All rooms are outside corridor; there is no elevator, so all second floor rooms require you to walk up the stairs. If this is difficult for you, be aware. A considerable amount of transient commercial traffic, with lots of trucks in the parking lot.
The "business center" consists of a table with a computer -- don't expect any ammenities. Also be aware that the room wireless is pitiful. The connection is exceedingly slow and fades in and out.
It is adequate for the price, but certainly not even average. If on a very strict budget, there aren't too many choices here -- and that is sad. If I can back on my own dime, I wouldn't stay here again.
Room Tip: I'm not sure there are "good" rooms
