This is a gorgeous hotel with helpful and friendly staff. We've stayed at the Windsor twice and both times had lovely, comfortable, clean and newly refurbished rooms with a refrigerator, microwave, flat screen TV and down comforter covered four poster beds. What I love most about the Windsor is that you feel like you've stepped back in time -- the wicker rocking chairs, the huge chandeliers, high ceilings, and the balconies overlooking the gorgeous lobby. The lovely restaurant overlooking a courtyard is great in the morning, especially with a hearty breakfast and with great service too!!! Definitely choose this hotel if you want to have a 'bed and breakfast' experience, but with more reasonable traveler rates!!!

Stayed in the Carter Presidential Suite after a day of sightseeing at Plains and Andersonville. The recent upgrades performed on the hotel are magnificent. They left the atmosphere and ambiance intact while making the entire experience more comfortable. For instance, the suite is located on the southwest corner of the building right on the eastbound main drag of town and not once did I hear a car or semi or siren to disturb my tranquility. Was lucky enough to visit while the holiday decorations were in place in the lobby and felt as if I had been transported onto a '40s Christmas movie set. The on-site restaurant (Amelia's) is located on the second floor and is quite good as well. The only item you need to be careful of is the bakery located just off the lobby; the smells of fresh baked goods wind their way into the lobby in the morning and it takes a very strong will to keep from indulging (or in my case, over-indulging) one's sweet tooth.

I'm glad I stayed here and highly recommend it to one and all.

What a wonderful place to stay. The rooms that were updated in 2010 are very comfortable. The building and lobby are gorgeous. If you are traveling on I-75, get of off the interstate and enjoy this hotel.

The staff is comfortable and respectful. The owner even helped me with my luggage.

The Windsor is a wonderful Hotel. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The dining is very good with an excellent breakfast ( Biscuits are unbelievable ). The staff is very helpful and friendly. The hotel was built in late 1800s and renovated in late 1900s and it is set in beautiful downtown Americus. Also, the hotel is family friendly. We have stayed at this hotel twice. My husband and I would highly recommend this hotel.
