In my opinion the Maya Beach Hotel & Bistro is the BEST & ONLY place to stay in southern Belize. The owners and staff are fabulous & friendly. You can't ask for more. It's the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sun, sand & sea. Then there's the Bistro. The food is absolutely amazing and the locals agree! We didn't eat anywhere else. I don't know of anywhere else where you can go to a 5 star restaurant in your bare feet. I hope to return soon!

The Maya Beach Hotel is the perfect choice for a relaxing, welcoming and delicious getaway. We stayed in the Toucan Room--clean and roomy with a view of the sunrise over the sea each morning--dreamy! It was only steps to tidy beach with chairs and hammocks just waiting. We took advantage of the free kayaks and paddled around in the sea one day.
The Bistro is amazing. Breakfasts offer plenty of fresh choices with freshly squeezed juices and items for every taste. Each evening there's a new creative special...we had snook with a mango beurre blanc that was absolutely incredible! The wine list is great.
The staff goes above and beyond to treat guests well and make all feel welcome. I can't wait to return to the Maya Beach.

Maya beach really is a lovely place to spend your time relaxing. We were only going to stay a couple of days but straight away tried to add on more days . Unfortunately they were booked up ( not surprised) so we were only able to spend a few nights there. The owners and the staff were so accommodating towards us it had such a relaxed feel. If you are into your food you really will not be disappointed here! The food was amazing ! The room was decked out to a high standard and such a good price for it( the only one available was the 'economy room') I think it's an insult to call it that as it was lovely. The beach is just right on your door step and the pool is a nice touch. The only & I say only , negative thing is that the hotel is a little bit away from the village, but you can easily get a bus, taxi or golf cart. If you are looking for a relaxing, chilled out and indulgent time, maya beach is for you.thanks for making us feel so welcome

Maya Beach is the ultimate choice if you are looking for a place to relax and eat terrific food. The area is totally laid-back.....a throw back to what so many Caribbean get-aways were like many, many years ago. This is a great hotel with a beautiful beach, the most helpful and friendly staff you could ask for, and a has one of the highest rated restaurants in the entire country! We stayed for a glorious week, and ate dinner there every evening. Incredible food - we were there for "Snapper Week" and the various nightly specials were some of the best meals we've ever tasted. Happy Hour is daily from 3-5 PM and features $2 drinks and $4 appetizers that were outstanding. John and Ellen (owners) are terrific and the entire staff is so friendly and helpful. We will return, for sure!
