The design of this place is fabulous. The cabanas are huge and beautiful. Our one was right on the beach with two double bedrooms, each with a private garden with an outdoor shower and an indoor bathroom. We also had a sitting room with sofa, dining table, fridge, coffee machine, iPod docking station, it was like a small house and beautifully decorated with amazing high ceilings and ikats on the wall. As the bedroom was huge we couldn't understand why it didn't have a king sized bed, instead it had queen sized and we would have slept better in a larger bed. Our only other gripe was the food, expensive and not very good. At times it bordered on the nasty and took forever to arrive. We later discovered that they had lost their chef so until they get a new chef I recommend staying at Turtle Inn but eating out. Eating in Placencia itself is not only far more atmospheric but also better food and cheaper. Turtle Inn run a bus into town every half hour in the evenings and during the day you can borrow their bicycles. The Hotel offer various trips, snorkelling etc but you get to go with up to 12 other people. If you go into Placencia and use a local agent you can get a private trip for the same price. Stay here for the sheer beauty of the place, the beach and wonderful beach bar but eat out.
Room Tip: Definately worth paying slightly more for the sea view cabanas which are right on the beach, the one...
