The cabanas are beautiful! Right on the ocean with its own dock. Very private section of beach where we found star fish, hermit crabs and just a short swim (walk) out to coral reefs. Beautiful sunrises and crystal clear, warm waters. The extra amenities are great - kayak, float toys, etc.

Placencia is the place to get groceries and supplies. Wendy's is a great restaurant. The shops and home-made crafts are very nice! and not that expensive.

This was my first time vacationing outside of the US and couldn't have picked a better location. There were 6 people in our group and we stayed at the Main Stay for 6 days. The cabanas were clean, the beach was right outside your gate and very white and clean, the landscaping was great and the cabanas were clean and cool with all the large ceiling fans and the breeze off the sea. Unlike a resort, you basically have your own beach and dock and have privacy to lounge in the hammocks or assorted chairs and loungers that are abundant at the cabanas. You also have a small coral reef off the dock in turquoise waters that you can wade out to. Great place!! I would recommend it and would like to go back soon!!!

Thank you Drew and Karen, once again our trip was amazing! This was our second time staying at the Maine Stay and everything was as perfect as our first visit. Kids enjoyed their time on the beach and visiting with everyone! Hope to have the chance to return!

Drew and Karen have a beautiful and comfortable retreat from the world here at the Maine Stay Cabanas. The habitations are cozy, clean and well furnished with everything we needed for our one week stay. The two room layout allowed our party of two couples to have privacy, and the deck and yard were great places to get together. And, the beach is beautiful, with white sand, coconut trees for shade, and the pier/palapa for sitting or fishing.

The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils and appliances, in case you want a break from all of the great restaurants. There is a blender, a toaster, a microwave and a range/oven, as well as two coffee makers (one in each room) with filters, sugar and creamer provided.

If you get bored lounging on the beach, (well, you could!), there are several sea kayaks available, one with a plexiglass bottom, and bicycles with locks in a closet under the cabana. The water is calm for swimming and there is some coral off the pier for seeing underwater life. Beach towels and floats are provided. I was able to borrow a fishing pole from a local friend and caught a fish from the pier.

This is a great place for a family or friends to take a vacation.
