Can't beat the service and quality of Paradise resort! I returned a year later and staff remembered me by name. The food is outrageously good, rooms clean and the location is perfection. Can't wait to stay here again.

This hotel has 3 ocean-view rooms on the second floor and 10 rooms that have no windows at all. This fact is not reflected on the hotel’s web site and has never been communicated to me in a long email exchange during reservation process. Surprisingly on this site either there no reviews that mention that most rooms have no natural light. Honestly, I can't explain it. Mislead, we reserved 2 rooms with no windows without knowing it. So one can imagine how astonished we were when we found it out. I'd like to make it abundantly clear, that we were well aware that our rooms won't have sea view. But having no light, no breeze at all came as an unpleasant surprise

We had to stay for one night because we arrived after 8pm and it was too late to look for something else. But we left next morning even though we had 5 nights reservation. We moved to Sea Spray Hotel (on the beach - ask for a very nice room #7, w/kitchenette, A/C and balcony for $69).

To owners' credit they continued to be professional and courteous even when we told them that we are leaving. I also have to add that judging by reaction of hotel owner/staff our astonishment was by no means unexpected to them.

I hate to write bad reviews, and yet I feel that I have to warn fellow travelers from falling into this trap like I did.

In fact less than good-faith negotiating/advertising tactics is the main reason of my poor rating of this hotel.

Otherwise the rooms are recently renovated and in good shape. Staff is cordial and professional. Some freebees are available if you stay in the hotel. The ocean-view rooms are good though in my view somewhat overpriced. The latter is mitigated by giving discounts (which is seen as a gimmick by some, but is see it as legitimate business strategy by others). Great sports bar – Yoli’s, is next door. The hotel is close to everything and the restaurant is decent.

As was mentioned in other reviews, there is no true beach - one can swim off the pier, but boats are parking in the same place.

The room was great the staff was amazing. We had such an amazing vacation I would and will recommend it everyone traveling to Belize. We drove a rental car all over most of Belize and I wouldn't think to stay anywhere else. The swimming beach is is a 10 min walk away although there is a small beach right in front of the hotel. They have kayak's that you can take out and explore the canals around Placencia they will help you set up a tour of any kind. We will most definitely be back in the future.

My husband and I spent New Years weekend at Paradise Hotel on a whim.....what a wonderful experience. The staff (Shannon, Christy, Shelton, Andrea....everyone) treated us like we were longtime friends. I was amazed at the length everyone went to to make our short stay memorable. We can't wait to come back! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
