I spent a few days here last summer in order to see the nearby ruins and eventually cross into Guatemala. The hostel was very neat and clean, the beds were standard for hostels. But it was bloody hot, as is most of Belize! I kept wishing for a fan, but all in all got some sleep. The showers were not warm, but trust me I wanted a cold shower. The owners are very nice and accommodating and will offer you a ride if they are going into town, but there is nothing at all nearby that you would want to walk to. It is really in the middle of nowhere. They also have their own tour packages if you are interested, the prices were competitive.
When I went to the central part of town one day, I saw many other backpackers and wondered where they were staying (I was the only one staying in Falconview at the time.) I think I would have preferred to stay somewhere else to meet other travelers but at the same time there wasnt really anything wrong with this hostel.
Hard to say if I would recommend it, but then again, I don't know the other options. Worth a shot but don't bet on it being full of travelers.
Also, it was a pain to use the internet since the nearest cafe is about 10 minutes by car.
