This was our second time in Belize. We stayed 6 nights at Cahal Pech. We loved the resort. Our cabana was adorable and very clean. The only complaint about the cabana is that the shower was kinda tricky. The pool was great and the staff was amazing. We booked transfers and 4 tours, the Cave Tubing, Tikal, Canoeing, and Caracol. We walked over to Cahal Pech ruins ourselves. We were extremely happy with our tours and had very knowlegeable guides. The only let down was the restaurant. The food was ok, but the menu never changed and served very little Belizian food. We went to town a couple nights for dinner and that was great. I would highly recommed the resort for people that are looking for a great place to stay and set up tours in the Cayo District.

We stayed in the cabanas. It was alot of fun. I dito the Dogs and Roasters going most of the night. It added a bit of charm to the experience. We just got back days ago and can't wait for our next trip! The climb up from our cabana to the front desk was a work out like climbing the Tikal ruins. Cabanas are nice clean basic huts with good running water and electricity. If you want more stay in a resort. We thought a good price for the experience. Do not forget to go to the Cahal Pech Ruins just down the road. Best $5 I spent. When it comes to the staff, you couldnt ask for more friendlier hopefully people. I cant wait to go back.

First the bad: Cabana was a little disappointing. Like someone else mention there were no hooks in the room nor were there any towel racks! All the food was mediocre except breakfast which was consistently excellent. The pool was nice but don't expect the hot tub to be working or check before booking. It would've been great to take a hot tub after a long day at Tikal but we were told it wasn't working and I got the feeling it is never on.
On the plus side: We loved the location, a short walk from town (the hill is not that bad!) with a great view. The barking dogs is a reality of the place, and seem to be endemic in areas of Belize.
On the last day an I came down with a bug and the desk clerk (Raina?) was SUPER helpful in hooking me up with a Doctor etc. She worked with me all morning to make sure I was taken care of and without her my trip might have been ruined.

We stayed four nights. The first cabana had no place where to hang our clothes... At nearly US$100 we expected to be able to hang our clothes somewhere... We were moved to the next cabana. No hot water, and the shower flooded as drain was blocked with God only knows what... We were told the problem would be fixed the next day. Not so. We had the same problem the next day. We were moved to a third cabana. It was a lot better, but some of the lights were not working... Get the idea? Also, it was very dark outside the cabanas as the light bulbs were burnt out. One could easily break one's neck going down the steps to the front door of the cabanas. The front desk staff are very friendly, and they seem to want to help, but that's it. It doesn't translate into positive action. It seems that the concept of room maintenance simply does not exist. Food is ok, but nothing great. Location is good, and the pool is a plus. Wouldn't go back.
