“Stepping back in time - loved it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 November 2011

Maybe a bit too close to loud music from other establishments but still a huge recommend .
Rooms are basic but spacious & very clean. AIr con is available at $20 US a night but fan was ok in November.
Comunal fridge plus tea & coffee making facilities a nice extra. Communal kitchen probably very welcome sight to people who have been travelling extensively before arriving here.
Very secure, very quaint, very good.

“Home Away From Home”

I loved my stay at Casa Blanca Hotel. My husband first discovered it when in Belize on business, and he enjoyed it so much he stayed there 2 weeks. And that says a lot right there (if you knew my husband). Run by Betty Guerra and her mother, from the moment you walk in you will be made to feel right at home! The Guerra family has a very interesting history in Belize, and Mr. Guerra (now deceased), was once the mayor of San Ignacio. The location is excellent - right on Burns Ave, which is the main street of downtown. The security gate is always locked, and guests have their own key to enter the premises. Guests share a community livingroom and kitchen, complete with fridge and cooking area (kitchen fully equipped). The rooms have cable TV, some have A/C, all have private bathrooms with hot water showers. The entire hotel is spotless clean. A balcony faces the front street, and guests can sit outside, enjoy a cold beer and watch the comings and goings on Burns Avenue. It is also just a few doors down from the police station, and this part of town boasts little crime. Within walking distance of the Macal River, the saturday market (the best in Belize), grocery stores, shopping, restaurants, 5 minute walk from the theatre, many tour operators within 2 or 3 minutes, and just a five minute short walk from the bus terminal! Casa Blanca also received an award for the "Best Little Hotel in Belize" a few years ago (awarded by the Tourism Board of Belize) - which says a lot right there! All in all, I highly recommend you check out Casa Blanca for your next San Ignacio visit! You will be glad you did!

“Go here”

I had booked my room at Casablanca before I arrived. It turned out to be a good decision.

Plus:
Rooms are clean and comfortable. Lots of channels on the tv if you get bored at night. Bathroom is small but has full shower, toilet, and sink with a shelf to put things.

Location is right in the middle of town, across from Hannahs (great restaurant). 2 mins walking from the bus terminal.

Kitchen is a bonus with a fridge and huge dinning room.

There is a living room area with couches and a small library for books.

Minus:
kitchen is only a fridge and microwave. You can not cook a proper meal.

Expensive for the area I think, I paid 24 Usd a night. There are cheaper options.

Overall really good

“Quiant !!!!!!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

I really loved this place. Very clean, hot water on demand (always), AC worked like a million bucks (it was HOT, humidex +45 and that baby kept us cool when needed). Full kitchen (VERY CLEAN), lounge area was comfortable, but we always chose to sit on the balcony. Big dining room table to eat your own prepared meals if need be. Restaurants are pretty inexpensive, so that would be your chose. Hassle free to eat out right? This is all located on the second floor.

OK, so would I recommend it? In a heartbeat !!!!!! This is not a 3, 4, or 5 star. It is a Guest House and a darn good one at that. I seen NO bugs in place. Some small little scavenging ants. Like maybe 20-25.

Location is "Prime" for watching the "going on's" of the town. In itself, that is worth staying, just to watch the local antics.

Beds OK, rooms are a tad small (but your only sleeping there), sat. TV for movies and news at night.

I fell in love with San Ignacio, Belize and the Casa Blanca Guest house.

Cheers Betty. Thanks for the awesome stay :)

“affordable, clean, good location”

I had this p[lace recommended to me by another hotel owner in Belize and it didn't disapoint. Close to good restaurants, nice view of the town. San Ignacio is a jumping off spot for river adventures but the town is nice. Big farmer's market, minature Brooklyn Bridge, and the river is a great place to cool off. Has community kitchen, helpful lady runs it. All in all, if you're not staying a a lodge out of town on the river or in the jungle, this is the place.
