The Red Hut Inn is a hidden gem of a place to stay in Belize. Lewis and Julia picked us up at the airport and immediately made us feel right at home treating us like family. Our room, #1, was very comfortable with AC, cable TV, Internet, a huge shower and a king sized bed that gave us the best sleep we have had in awhile. The hosts are completely knowledgeable about all things in Belize. They were a tremendous help and went out of their way. Lewis is a fantastic cook. He barbecued on the grill for us and it was delicious. He makes some killer burgers and his ribs are to die for. The Red Hut Inn is definitely worth checking out. You won't regret it.

Red Hut, is like a tardis, looks small from the outside but is surprisingly big inside. Rooms are bright and spacious. There is an option to self cater or have meals on request. Chef Luis is a good cook. A deck with hammocks to rest if you wish. (Sandflies around about 4.30 though be warned - use repellent).

I had a most enjoyable stay at the Red Hut, with Julia and Luis most gracious hosts, who will also help with tours that you may want to take.

It is outside the main city but easy to get there by bus for $1 or taxi $10.

I would stay again in this hotel and would recommend it.

I stayed at the Red Hut Inn for a week while visiting my son who is in school in Belize. We stayed in Room 7. It had a/c, 2 queen beds, a sofa and tv, refrigerator, and bathroom. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners were very friendly, Louis made some incredible lunches and dinners for us (and would have made breakfast if we wanted it), the little convenience store was stocked with reasonably priced sodas and snacks, and they have cars for rent. This place is a Guest House, not a premium hotel, so if you go expecting it to be a Guest House, you will thoroughly enjoy yourself. The veranda was great in the mornings and evenings, and when Belize's Internet worked, we also had free Internet. Definitely a great place to stay.

My husband and I were supposed to go to Belize in June however we had to cancel because of the hurricane. I contacted the Red Hut Inn to cancel our two-night reservations. They told me that because I called the day before they were only able to refund me one-night's stay. I agreed to this since it's their rules.

Since then I have contacted the hotel's owner JULIA on numerous occasions asking her to refund my money. SHE STILL HAS NOT AND IT'S BEEN SIX MONTHS! I'm terribly upset with the lack of service I have received and warn other travelers to be wary of dealing with these people. They do not comply with their own rules and if you need to cancel you will most likely never see your money!!!
