Totally decent place to stay, though a little expensive in comparison to other similar (and oftentimes better) places I have stayed in Belize. The room was clean, the area was pretty quiet, and it’s within easy walking distance of the swing bridge, tourist village, and water taxi station.
I’d recommend checking out the room before accepting it. We unpacked all our stuff, went to explore the city, and then came back and found that our bathroom door didn’t close. There was actually about a 12 inch gap when it was in “closed” position. (Zero bathroom privacy.) We didn’t care enough to ask to change rooms.
We paid the higher rate for a "balcony" room. Don't do that. The balcony is a communal area anyone can enjoy.
Also, if you're staying here, it's worth walking north up Regent Street in the morning until you see a small green food stand on the east side of the road with a hand written sign on the front that says "fry jack $2" on the outside. It'll probably have a long line, but the food is totally worth it!
