We stayed at the Biltmore one night as a stopover from Belize City to Ambergris Caye. We sat at the outdoor bar and shared a plate of wings with cocktails. We also had breakfast the next morning. The food was good, not great, but good enough. The room was very clean and decent sized, but very, very tired. Bath tub was chipped with rust around the drain--that sort of thing. But, again, very clean. The hotel is convenient to either airport--municipal or international, and much closer to municipal. If you're flying Tropic Air or Maya Island (ex. to Caye Caulker or Ambergris), fly out of Municipal airport.

/we stayed here only one night as part of a 8 day tour of Belize and Ambergris Caye, San Pedro. The room was average, but clean and the staff was very agreeable. We requested a refrigerator for our room ahead of time, however, it was not plugged in when we arrived. As this was requested for medical reasons (to keep insulin cold) I was a bit annoyed.
The restaurant was decent and the service good. We spent some time in the bar/lounge and the barkeeper gave us great pina coladas during happy hour!

I wanted to really like the Biltmore, as I have been here many times before for drinks and to use the pool. This was the first time I had stayed. We were only staying in Belize City one night before going south. It is convenient as it is the first hotel you reach in the City from the airport. I booked the room on AA.com and got a good rate. I always find Belize City overpriced so was happy to pay £65 (about $100) for the night inclusive of taxes.
The room although a good size and clean, lacked real quality. The only window overlooks the public balcony. The air con was good, the bathroom was a bit tired but ok . The beds were just ok, I don't remember feeling like I had a great nights sleep.
The other thing which is classic Belize is that they put us on the second floor, which is ok in theory but we have a 9 month old baby and there is no lift. I'm used to carry the pram up and down stairs but there was no need to put us upstairs. when there are just as many rooms on the ground floor. I'm sure they would have moved us if we asked though.
The pool is a good size and is good to sun bath round. You can do a lot worse in Belize city.

My spouse and I have stayed at this hotel twice in the last 2 years. In both cases we stayed there for one night either before or after a trip with a group. It is located fairly close to the international airport so it is a good transition point. It is ok for a very short stay. It's pros are it has a decent restaurant and a pool area and running path. So if you don't have a car and want to avoid going into Belize City you can stay put at the hotel. Very few people really do extended stays in Belize City. The places to go are off the coast or in the really nice lodges in other parts of the country. This hotel is a good transition place to meet a group when you are coming from the airport. Also when you book online take your receipt with you. I had to show mine because their system wasn't showing that I paid. Having my receipt helped resolve the problem.
