We had a very difficult time finding lodging on the island, staying at one awful place after another (hotel policy on caulker is 2 night minimum stay) finally we decided to splurge a bit here and it was well worth every penny! the owners (a young aussie couple) are very warm and approachable. They had a great lounge area and the apartment we stayed in was fantastic. It was such a relief to stay here after the horrors we had previously encountered!

I have stayed in various places on the island but in this apartment, I definitely had the best sleep. It was a two room apartment with a fully equipped open kitchen, air conditioned and with a TV in each room. Nice balcony with hammocks, facing the sea.
The client I met on the island, who actually stayed in the neighboring Seaside Cabanas Hotel (not a bad place either) actually envied me for this place that had cost me less than over there. OK, no swimming pool here but who needs it when the ocean is just out there?

Also the bar is an excellent place to hangout, try their grapefruit margeritas and the French style sandwiches.

First trip to Caye Caulker after serveral years at Roatan. What a disappiontment! Prior to arrival and after payment we found out that four of our party had been bumped to Sailwinds (next door). Upon arrival we fournd that the beach area in front of the house had been replaced by Paradiso Lounge complete with music & conversation till late each night. In addition it is in close proximity to Tina's Hostel with late night partying. We did find the new operators to very friendly and June who did the cleaning was very efficient and quite pleasant. The crowing blow came on our next to the last night when someone entered our accomodations while we slept and stole all our cash and jewelry. We were fortunate that they did not find our credit card and left our passports on the balcony. Entry was gained by way of Tina's and through our second story balcony doors that had no locks!! This after we had been assured that the place was quite safe for our things. Besides being overpriced the security is deplorable - even in Honduras virtually all places have on site security. We will be spending our future vacation dollars elsewhere in the future.
