Feb 2012 was my 2nd trip to Pedros Inn. Peter and the staff at Pedros manage the property very well. If you need something, just ask for it. Our rooms were clean, our belongings were safe and the price of accomodation was very fair. We had a private 3 pce washroom, TV, and A/C.. Cindy and or Peter are happy to arrange all your excursion needs and took great care of us as they booked our golf cart, snorkeling trip and Lamanai temple tour. Its one-stop shopping at a very fair price. The pub at Pedros is friendly ( especially if you ring the bell at the end of the bar ! ) and Peter arranges trivia nights and has live music on occasion. You can pay direct or if you behave yourself he might even let you charge your drinks to your hotel room. You have to try Pedros pizza. And that isnt the Jagermeister talking.. We asked him to put together a seafood dinner for 4 ( not on the menu ) and he set it all up for us. A very tasty dinner served by Walter. Again, if you want something, ask for it and the staff at Pedros will do whatever they can to make your stay enjoyable.

Cindy & Peter were very accommodating and helpful! Rooms were reasonably priced and clean. Short walk from town. Friendly pub with good pizza. Security cameras in hallways.

On my second trip to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye my friend and I stayed at Pedro's Hotel in January 2012 for 4 nights. Combined with Pedros Sports Bar, it was a great choice indeed for us.

Owner Peter "Pedro" Laurence's friendly welcoming personality is only matched by his skills as a raconteur. His hotel and bar are as authentic and enjoyable as him! He could be found in the bar most nights engaging his guests in conversation. (And maybe giving ya a shot or two of Jaegermeister on the house along the way!)

And yes as their website says....they do have damn good pizza! We are from NJ where pizza is taken very seriously. It was as good as any we have had in our travels and pretty good even by NJ standards! The bar staff and hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Mary is a sweetheart at the bar!

While you can stay at supposedly more luxurious places and pay alot more, you can have a great time at a reasonable price at Pedro's. The rooms are spare but very clean with small flat screen TVs. There is wifi in the bar and it was in our room as well. (Not sure if rooms further back have wifi... you might have to ask) The hotel is very secure with video cameras monitoring the premises. The pool is clean with a nice deck and never crowded at all.

Walking to town or to the beach is not a problem and takes maybe 5-10 minutes at most.

So if you appreciate a clean secure friendly place that is one of the best values in San Pedro, you should consider Pedro's Hotel for sure. Pedro's Hotel and Sport Bar has a nice mix of people, good staff and an owner that brings a true spirit of fun to your stay.

So honestly, you get what you pay for. We stayed in the Hotel side. The front desk woman was nice, but seemed stressed. The room was clean enough, but the bathroom and shower really could use some help. The TV had static on all stations (yes I checked that the cable was secure). The ceiling fan was very noisy and would short out some days with sparks coming from the switch. The air conditioning worked well, but was so noisy and the window would not open. They sprayed for bugs one day in our room (no notice about the insecticide) and awoke the next morning to a pile of dead ants and cockroaches. The WIFI barely worked in the hotel (needed to go outside or sit at the pool for it to work well).

People seem to complain about the location from town but it is no more than a 10 minute walk into town and you could walk on the road and almost always be offered a ride by a passing golf cart or you could walk to town on the beach which was a lovely option.

One thing we did find was that for most of the tours/activities that we did it was cheaper to book directly with the tour operators rather than with the hotel (but really is this much of a surprise).

Also be warned that with the "budget" you end up with the young drunk crowd that seemed to like banging on doors at 2AM most nights. In the end, it is as a budget hotel and expect no more than that.
